Everleigh Ebersol
About halfway across the river, the scorpion raised its tail and stung the frog. The frog was both astounded and disconsolate. “Why did you sting me? Now I will die and you will surely drown and die also.”
The scorpion replied, “I can’t help it. It’s who I am. It’s in my nature.”

Appearance
A Devil Playing Disguise With An Angel’s Face
Everleigh is a traditional beauty, taking after her mother who was known for her unique features. She had obsidian black hair and gray eyes when she was younger. Now some features of hers are quite strange. Chalk it up to all the poison eating.Everleigh has finally grown into her figure. Once gaunt at worst and slender at best, she is notably far more curvaceous than she originally thought. She’s more legs than torso with petite shoulders, and because of being taken at four, she has less fat than the average young woman. Arm strength isn’t her forte but her legs and core have always been strong. Once starvation punishments stopped being a regular thing, Everleigh saw that she had been blessed, or cursed, with a wasp-like waist, rounded hips and ridiculously large bust.
Everleigh’s large yet almond shaped eyes are a dull violet surrounded by long, dark, thick lashes. Her face is petite, small forehead with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline that promises to cut you. Defined, plush lips hide a radiant smile. Her nose is smaller than she would like as she thinks it doesn’t suit her diamond shaped face. Skin is as clear with a healthy glow. Her violet hair falls down to her hips, at one point in time it was long enough to touch the floor but after being burnt in a fight against a magma golem and cut by another initiate as a prank in her last year as an initiate it’s much shorter now— Everleigh does prefer this length. She ties her hair back into a braid.
Everleigh sports quite a few piercings, as metal as proven to hold onto poison and venom. Being stabbed by one of her piercings, although it’ll feel just like a pinprick, is a deadly experience. Visibly seen are the piercings on either side of her middle fingers, her ears, and tongue.
Everleigh now has a couple of tattoos and engraved runes on her body. She didn’t have them during her time as an initiate but as a dreadlord she has decided to expand on some of her arcane abilities with minor focus in summoning. On Everleigh’s back is a large purple snake, this tattoo allows her to call forth her snake made of acid quicker. On the back of her neck is a rune, purple just like the snake, but this rune holds the intent of showcasing when Everleigh is using her magic. It was put on her by Proctor Marianne Goetsch and as far as Everleigh knows, it cannot be removed.
Other tattoos include: a small snake on her left collarbone, a scorpion on her right collarbone, a butterfly behind her right ear, and a spider behind her left ear.
Prefers clothing that covers her skin, especially her arms, although she never seems to care whether it is loose or tight, conservative or revealing. Has admitted to liking wearing dresses despite how impractical they can be. Usual attire does revolve around a tunic and breeches for her daily wear.
Her armor is much lighter than other initiates as it makes it easier for her to have access to her prefer weaponry. Often will wear leather vests stuffed with wool and will place more sturdy armor around her calves and knees. Always wears her cleats no matter the occasion. Tries as much as possible to keep her arms clear of any sort of clothing or armor when on missions.

Skills and Abilities
Hate That You Need Me, Wanna Destroy Me But You Can’t— You’re Gonna Deploy Me In The End
Everleigh has throughout the years been ingesting all sorts of poisons, venoms and toxins since she was five years old. She naturally has a better immune system than the average person, and the magic within her offers some immunity to the toxins she ingests, but there have been quite a few close calls were it was unsure if Everleigh was going to make it. That being said, the more she ingests, the stronger she gets as her repertoire of poisons/venoms/toxins increase and her immunity grows.
She can utilize this magick through her body: liquid, gas and flesh are all suitable conduits. Often Everleigh is licking her weapons to coat them in whatever poison she likes. She has used tears, sweat, saliva, blood, belching, and other bodily secretions (yes, THOSE secretions) to spread her toxins around. She does not need to rely on just body secretions though, as some of her more famous attacks can have her emitting toxic gas (poison breath) or even acid (acidic touch).
Whenever she’s creating poison her eyes will glow, depending on the severity of the poison the color can be a glowing violet or a glowing gold. If it’s gold be very careful, it’s most likely something very dangerous.
Something to note, Everleigh is able to reproduce the effects of the toxins, she can even pick and choose which aspects she likes and take away what she does not need. It has been noted that Everleigh can cause paralysis, inhibit blood clotting, damage muscles, affect nervous systems, kill cells, cause hallucinations, increase or decrease blood pressure, cause suspended-animation states, 1st to 4th degree burns, cause intense nerve stimulation and other things.
It’s through her intelligence and resourcefulness in battle that allows her to have the upper hand, and hence why she prefers to coat her blades during battle instead of before— you never know what you might need. Not only that, but she can choose when the toxin takes affect, it can be minutes, hours, days and even 10 days later. She can either telekinetically activate the poison(requires more effort/magic/concentration) or create a poison that slowly kills the host.
As mentioned before, unique to Everleigh is her producing acid. One can see this as her own special type of venom, and one with no cure— Everleigh constantly has to ingest this to keep even her immune system up to date on all the latest toxins and poisons. This acid can burn through flesh very quickly, and even eat away at clothing, metals and other minerals. The acid tends to take a lot out of her, at least in large quantities.
Everleigh’s toxikinesis, once unreliable, has become her favorite ability to use when in a bind. It requires more from her, but the more she uses it the better and more efficient she gets. She can telekinetically move toxins and change it’s structure to however she sees fit. In some cases, she can even move a poison or acid already inside a person’s actual body.
Everleigh has been known to create and control snakes from her arcane might. They tend to be glaucous beings that she controls, they don’t have a mind of their own, but concentration is needed from her to move them around how she wants.
Everleigh has also spent time learning air and water elemental magic to help her with own personal magic.
Summons: can bring forth toxic snakes, scorpions and butterflies made out of magic. They will appear purple, and each will bring forth a specific attack. The snakes are used for wide range, extremely quick and nimble, they also relay a lot information about terrain and other points of interest back to Everleigh. Scorpions are used to quickly spread her toxins on the ground, their. The butterflies are most notably the weakest out of the summons, but their numbers are great and magnified so much that they emit a poisonous haze/mist in a large area. This mist can cause hallucinations to the point of causing others to each other, even their comrades, but ignore Everleigh, ultimately leaving her the only one standing.

Personality
A thrill-seeking junkie obsessed with games and gambling, Everleigh has survived the trials of the Academy and now is in the midst of a metamorphosis. Still cruel and cunning for the uninitiated who play her games and witness the mirth and mischief in her eyes. Often wearing that signature smug smirk of hers, more often than not, Everleigh finds herself forgoing her selfish ways or the past and exhibiting a hint of altruism. A kindness far more universal than before has made its way into her heart. She has accepted her empathetic nature and is no longer using it to trick others. Far more emotional than she ever was before and yet still indiscriminate with her wrath. Anxious yet confident at once, paranoid yet certain, Everleigh has become a litany of contradictions that even make her own head reel.
Everleigh is learning how to show kindness, learning how to understand boundaries, and overall, figuring out what it means to be human. More importantly, she seeks to be the self she would have become if she hadn’t gone to the Academy.
