Private Tales Sierra's Storytime

A private roleplay only for those invited by the first writer
Sierra had the feeling this was something Rose would settle with in time. She'd need to live and see the truths that Sierra just spoke about to believe them. To see that she and Cillian weren't going anywhere. She could understand why her daughter was so worried about losing it all.

About going back to the things that had been.

The time where Rose had missed Sierra the most but had to act strong.

"You don't have to hide your feelings from me, ever," Sierra said, running her thumb along her daughter's cheek. "Do you understand? Never ever."

Rose stared up at Sierra silently. As if weighing the truth of her mother's words. Tears still stained the sides of her cheeks but she was no longer crying. Sierra gently wiped her fingers over the lingering moisture as if she could take away all her daughter's worries and fears with that one gesture.

Rose nodded. Finally. Two slow nods.

Sierra bent over Rose and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead. Leaning back, she gave a warm, smile down to her daughter. "Would you like to me to continue the story from last night?"

"Yeah," Rose admitted. "But, can you keep holding me?"

"Absolutely,' Sierra shifted so she lay on Rose's bed. Her back pressing into the pillow and headboard behind them. Legs stretched out down the length. Rose still lay across her lips. Curled into Sierra. Sierra storking through her hair slowly.

"So. I believe our Daisy was downstairs with the redhead. About to enter the large dining hall. There were lots of others eating there as well. And she smelled breakfast foods that reminded her of home."

"And she was not disappointed as she entered. It was a massive room with large tables running down the length. Massive benches on either side where people came and went with plates of food. Bowls with all sorts of steaming breakfast foods filled the tables."

"Some things Daisy recognized. Other things she didn't. She saw hotcakes and bacon and eggs."

"Bowls and plates piled with roasted meats and roasted vegetables. Pastries and toast. And other brightly colored foods and things she couldn't recognize. The morning light streamed in behind the tables from an outside wall. Windows that stretched from the floor to ceiling with the largest glass panes Daisy had ever seen."

"Craning her neck, she saw massive chandeliers hanging above the tables. Lit up perhaps during the darker hours. Daisy was more than a little surprised that she was going to be fed at all. Considering the tower she'd stayed in last night."

"And it was deliciously warm in here. At least a low warmer than in her tower. For the first time since the night before, she felt as though warmth was returning to her bones. Fingers flexed at her sides. The redhead tipped her chin to one of the tables and Daisy noticed Storm sat there. Alone at one of the ends."

"Get some food, the redhead said. You're going to need it. Without waiting further, she cut across the space toward the snowy-haired male."

"Daisy followed. Trying not to stare back at all those that paused and looked up at them. Curious glances not hidden in their eyes. She slid onto the bench next to Storm who didn't even look up from eating. Even as the redhead sat opposite them."

"Daisy reached across the table for a plate. Then she began piling it high with some of the roasted meats. At least, the ones she recognized. Then she spooned on some eggs and grabbed a pastry that looked like it was apple-something."

"Daisy sniffed a forkful of food before she tentatively stuffed it into her mouth. She chewed slowly, almost expecting to drop dead. Would they poison her, she wondered?"

"Storm grunted next to her and shook his head as if he'd read her worries. Eat up, he spoke quietly. You're going to need it, he added. Daisy swallowed another spoonful."

"When will he call for me, Daisy asked."

"Knowing him, who knows, the redhead spoke up. Even as Storm gave her a warning glare from across the table."

"You better lower your voice Nara, Storm said and he took another bite of bacon."

"He's already done all he can do. What is there left? Nara dismissed storm and tipped her chin to Daisy. She's your problem, now, the Redhead said. Try not to let her kill herself."

"Storm growled and glared at Nara. Don't you have morning duties to attend to?"

"Nara smiled sweetly and blew Storm a kiss before stabbing a forkful of eggs from his plate and standing, savoring the stolen food. With another wink over her shoulder at the pair, she sauntered away and out of the dining hall."

"Daisy continued to quietly munch her pastry. Not saying one word."

"The silence stretched between herself and Storm. Daisy wasn't bothered by it but it seemed Hunt was. Because after he ate a bit more, he asked without turning to her. How was your night last night?"

"His voice was gruff and short. She couldn't tell if he even wanted to ask the question. And she thought the question was strange on its own. Why did he even ask it? It was clear these...beings didn't care about her. She was just walking closer to her execution."

"It was cold, Daisy admitted rather bluntly and went for another piece of bacon. She could feel Storm's gaze on her then. But she refused to look up or over. Her focus on her plate of food as she munched away."

"Hmm, Storm rumbled but said nothing else on the matter. And eventually she felt his gaze lift back away from her and toward the room at large. Daisy peeked up and noticed as Storm looked outward all the openly gawking faces turned away from her."

"Daisy didn't know whether to be grateful or scared so she focused on her food until she was finished."

"Would you like a tour of the castle and grounds? Storm asked suddenly and this time Daisy couldn't help but look up at him. Why was he doing this? Still. Doing that seemed better than returning to that cold, high room. So she nodded."

"And after she nodded she couldn't quite tell what the look was that Storm let slip on his face. Was it relief? Annoyance? Not waiting, he swiftly stood and motioned for her to follow. For just a moment, the dining hall quieted as they walked out and back into the main hall. The chatter only picking up when they were outside the open doors."

"I will warn you, Storm said without turning around. Like I did last night. Don't try to run."

"Daisy bristled and kept her mouth shut. If Storm noticed, he didn't say anything."

"I'll take you outside first and then we'll see how much you can see inside before you're called upon, Storm continued as he led them back the way she'd entered the castle last night."

"What am I expected to do in front of him, Daisy asked, worry making her chew lightly on the inside of her cheek."

"Storm shrugged his shoulders as they stepped outside. Back into the courtyard area. Daisy could see the stables more clearly now. And yes, the barracks across the way. And it looked like the horses were munching on breakfast as well. There was a small stone path she followed STorm on that wove around the side of the castle and led into a large garden area in the back."

"Something you think will entertain him. Can you sing? Hunt asked."

"Daisy shrugged and said. Maybe a little but I'm not particularly good at it."

"Storm shook his head. Let us hope the King does not ask you to do that, then, he said."

"Daisy stared and stopped by a massive rose bush. The King can ask for me to do something as part of this sentence? A worried question she voiced."

"Of course, Storm rumbled and looked back at her, noticing she had fallen behind."

"The King gets what he wants, Storm continued. Do try to keep up. He said as he turned on his heel and lead them further into the gardens."

"Daisy tried to keep up but his gait was so much longer than hers. She saw that they were entering a hedge maze and frowned but continued to follow. What else do you think he might ask me to do, she asked to Storm's back."

"Anything, Storm grunted. He could ask you to play an instrument, dive into the Harpy's lake, face Baba Yaga, or duel a dragon, he finished."

"Daisy stared. BABA YAGA? She squealed and hurried to catch up once again as they turned blind corners and wove through the maze. She's real? Daisy whispered and swallowed."

"That earned a dark chuckle from Storm."

"Aye. If you ever got a secret from Baba Yaga she'd kill you and leave your bones in the forest, Storm said. So if I were you, he continued, I would suggest doing something before the Hunter King can suggest for you."

"Oh, Daisy said and found that they'd made it to a part of the maze that opened up from the claustrophobic corridors. A more open space with benches and strange flower bushes surrounding them. Even a lone fruit tree in the center."

"Daisy walked over and sat on one of the benches, her eyes traveling up to the fruit. They were golden yellow and shaped like stars. She'd never seen them before and a finger reached up to brush lightly against the skin of one."

"She realized Storm considered her silently. Her hand withdraw back to her lap."

"When do you think he'll summon me, Daisy asked."

"A sharp howl filled the air and Storm immediately stiffened. Right about now, he sighed and motioned for Daisy to follow. Come on, he said. Time to get you back to the throne room."

"Daisy popped off the bench and wondered if she'd be able to hide in the gardens. Wondered if she'd be able to find a way out of the castle. Perhaps she'd find something another time. She doubted she would get far with any of the others around or watching her."

"Footsteps quickly followed across the manicured grass as she went with Storm out of the hedge maze. The way out was much faster than the way in. But she still found she wouldn't have been able to trace her steps. Soon they were back into the main garden area then back on the path. But Storm took them up some different stone steps and through a side-entrance."

"Remember what I said, Storm warned as he lead her throat a tight and narrow space. It looked like storage for something. Lots of bottles with brightly colored liquids in them and small plants in pots lined the walls all the way up to the ceilings."

"Choose something before the Hunter King can choose for you, Storm said before he clasped his hands behind his back. A stern look to his jaw and they were out of the small, strange corridor and back into the main one. A few of the tall, beautiful beings stood by. All not staring too much with the presence of Storm. But not as many as the morning."

"Daisy tried not to fidget as they got closer and closer to the throne room. She knew who would be waiting for her."
