"Why not just... Not get bitten by all those snakes??? Sorry, sorry, Hello traveler I am Steve Son of Will, Spudmancer Supreme," he snapped and made a wide gesture with his arm, and offered a potato flower that hadn't been in his hand a moment before, "please have some of my stew it is to die for, though after seeing you walking through all these snakes I have to question what really is worth dying for anymore."
Steve sat down contemplating life
Luna dropped the rest of the snakes carcasses to the ground as they seemingly melted into black dust that swirled into her book. "My master hungered, i felt these snakes souls would be a touch better than feeding him yours." she said jokingly but in her monotone voice it was hard to tell if she was anything but bored. She would have smiled at the odd man if she was capable. Steve. what an odd name for a necromancer.
"Her..." the whispers of her master said as Luna looked to the fiery haired woman dressed in regal black clothing, scars telling of other conflicts, was recoiling at her energy before a wall of brambles suddenly formed around the two necromancers leaving only the elf mage and Luna startling her into a defensive stance her right hand on her black steel sword handle and her left opening her tome causing its aura to become less of a shadow around her and more of a solid darkness as the magic ate at the brambles causing them to dry up and crack draining the energy and making the darkness thicker and stronger feeding on the life energy she was putting into the spell which wouldnt be a comfortable experience.
"So who are you, and why are you just wandering around the wilds like this?"
The elf spoke as she seemed to turn the brambles to steel with a touch causing her aura to recoil and desist for a moment before continuing to eat even if it was at a much slower pace. the steel brambles remained undecayed and intact as it was now focused more on the life energy feeding into the spell than the actual substance the spell was creating.
"The fact that you just shrugged off the venom of those kind of snakes means that whatever brought you here is packing some serious juju, and i dont know if i like that."
"My name is Luna and Im on a mission for my master." she said in elvish not using Bastellens name as she rarely spoke it in front of other
elves. Most
humans,
orcs and even
dwarves had forgotten him long ago but elves especially studied mages would know of her god and what he represented and championed, and it didnt leave a good taste in many mouths, and getting attacked by bushes and speared on some magic sword was not something Luna pictured would be very fun. "The rest is none of your business and as for what you like or do not like is none of my concern." she said in her usual bored monotone, "....Enough talk you stupid child i want her energy...we want more..." The whispers spoke harshly "..we want her.." the darkness stretched and began to slowly snake its way across the ground eating away at the grass and
plants it touched, as her aura expanded as wave of deep dread and cold seemed to envelope both Luna and the mage to the point where they could see each others breath.
"Demyra! Let's refrain from fighting please."
The other necromancer had spoken up clearing Luna's trance like tunnel vision. "Stop." She spoke softly to the void. She realized the elf was most likely protecting her friends from her and not attacking. The darkness paused before slowly returning to her tome like it was being forcibly pulled and not willingly returning. She shut the book and she clutched it tight as her aura sucked back and faded to a slightly darker shadow around her. "....You can not defy me you foolish girl...." The whispers spat angrily. Luna sighed. she knew he needed her to do his will. She had final say....most of the time...his power did come with certain strings. She stayed in a defensive stance waiting for the elf to make the next move however, as the elf didnt seem like one to let someone off the hook, and from what Luna saw from her magic getting strung upside down and wrapped in vines made of steel was becoming a possibility. She held the book tightly at that thought. As in the
event of getting strung up being separated from it was not an option.
