The Wyvern's Nest refers to a small series of shops located in the Vale. They seek to provide all the needs an adventurer, traveler or Knight could wish for, all in one place.

Overview

The stores that make up the Wyvern's Nest are located in a village, close to Astenvale Monastery. It's a convenient stopping point for all sorts, but especially adventurers, knights, and the like. As they provide all the services one could need from them, those being; weapons, armor, potions, jobs, food, and a place to sleep.

All are owned by a pair of retired adventurers who've settled down and want to live simpler lives, but still, help others with their resources and experience. They unofficially work with the Knights of Anathaeum in the sense that they gather and display missions for their members (and others) to undertake.

Exterior

There are currently four shops in this chain, all close by each other and surrounding a small park in the middle of the village. Each of them are cozy structures, made with a mixture of wood and cobblestone, varying a bit in size to match the purpose they serve. But all are larger than the average village building.

The northmost structure is the inn and teahouse, three stories tall in total. The bottom floor's reserved for the teahouse while the upper floors consist of bedrooms for the inn and living quarters for the staff. A pair of red banners hang on each side of the door with the image of a wyvern on it. There's a chimney on the eastern side of the building.

The westmost structure is the blacksmith and armory, two stories tall and mostly made of cobblestone. It has a big chimney on the back of it. The door is green in color and there's the image of a hammer mounted above it. Along with the name of the store.

The eastmost structure is the alchemy shop and clinic, two stories tall and mostly made up of wood. The bottom floor is broken in half, with the northern half being dedicated to the clinic and the southern half being for the potion shop. The second floor is also reserved for the clinic, save for a storage room on the south side.

The southmost structure is a magic shop, a one-story building that resembles a spacious cottage at a glance. There's a garden outside and a path leading to the front door.

Teahouse and Inn

The interior of the teahouse is meant to be as cozy and welcoming as possible, with cushioned wooden furniture and decorations on the walls. There's a big stone fireplace on the eastern side of the building and a stage on the northern wall for any bards or performers. Many potted plants and flowers are also present to brighten the room. There's a room leading to the kitchen behind the counter.

The second floor consisted of a hallway that leads into a dozen different bedrooms that can be rented for cheap. Six of the rooms consist of a double bed while the other six consist of two single beds.

The third floor is where the owner and some of the staff's living quarters are.

Services

Teas of all kinds can be ordered here, all masterfully brewed by the teamaker there. You'll also find wine, pastries, stews, and sweets for sale. Generous souls, or those who simply don't know how to cook, can bring the spoils of a good hunt here and have it cooked into a feast for the whole teahouse, should they so desire.

There are strict rules against your usual drunken antics. People are limited in how much alcohol they can consume in one night. Any drunken misdeeds may result in a temporary ban from the establishment.

The Inn meanwhile provides a safe and comfortable place to sleep for the night. It's generously cheap, but provides little more than the beds.

Blacksmith and Armory

The interior of the blacksmith has a stone floor and many walls of it as well to reduce the risk of fire. There are two main areas to the shop, the first being the store portion where racks of weapons and armor of varying quality are on display. Behind a stone counter, there's a door that leads to a high-end forge, where the weapons themselves are made.

The most expensive weapons are locked in glass cases to reduce risk of theft.

Services

The blacksmith provides weapons and armor for the person who needs them. Their crafts vary in quality and are organized in terms of it. You can purchase shoddy weapons and armor for just a few coins. Or you can purchase expert crafts for a great deal of gold. One can also get their own gear repaired by the smiths there.

A wealthy enough individual can commission work from one of the smiths there. The amount of coin needed varies, depending on which blacksmith they ask.

If one has some special material they'd like to be forged into a weapon or armor. They can commission the blacksmiths there to do it and get a discount for providing the material for them.

Enchanting services can also be purchased here. That said, powerful enchantments require rare ingredients to be properly cast. Which often involves going on a quest of varying difficulty.

Alchemy Shop and Clinic

The clinic takes up the majority of this building, not too different from any other in appearance. It consists of a long square room lined with beds that are separated from each other by curtains. There's two floors worth of beds, allowing them to house plenty in need. Although it's rare that much space is needed all at once.

Next to the clinic is a small alchemy shop, located on the south side of the ground floor. It’s filled with shelves that are all stocked with potions, salves, and medicine. With a small counter at the end of the room for people to make a purchase.

Services

Potions, basic medicines, and antidotes to poisons can be purchased in the Alchemy shop. While they're not miracle cures, they can be used to heal faster, stop bleeding, or empower yourself. There's also antidotes to most common poisons for sale. Special potions can be ordered from here.

Common ailments, poisons, and mild to moderate injuries can all be treated here for a generously low price. Anything more serious can be treated but will likely be beyond the healers skill. Patients can spend days in the clinic, should their ailment be serious enough to warrant such treatment.

Magic Shop

Inside the structure is a spacious room with a wooden floor covered by a purple rug. The shelves aren't as full as in other shops, but the items for sale are far more rare and valuable. There's a counter on the far side of the room.

Enchantments are also for sale here, if you have a specific piece of equipment or an item that you wish to be given an enchantment. Basic enchantments can be done by the mage themselves, while more potent ones require magical ingredients to power.

Services

The unique service provided here is access to magical scrolls, covered in runes, that once activated will cast a specific spell to perfection. It's a one-time use though as the scroll is consumed after the casting. This doesn't nullify the cost of magic however, the user will still have to pay it. Although they can choose to pay it through magical ingredients rather than taking the price on themselves personally, the ingredients will be consumed in the process.

Magical items and ingredients are also sold here, useless to most anyone who doesn't know how to use magic themselves. While everything is quite valuable on its own, there's certain items where that's especially the case, such as magical weapons or artifacts. These are kept locked in glass cases that have a few precautionary runes placed on them.

If anyone has a specific craft in mind they may commission it here. They'll receive a discount if they provide the necessary ingredients for whatever they have in mind.
