Simeon
Simeon is an old wizard and retired adventurer. Moderately famous in certain fields for his discoveries, specifically when it comes to runes. He now runs the Magic Shop of the Wyvern's Nest. Where adventurers can pay to benefit from his discoveries.
Appearance
He's an old man with a bald head hidden under a red floppy hat. While he doesn't have any hair on his head. What he does have is a long gray beard that reaches his chest in length. He has light, tannish skin and light brown eyes. He dresses in a set of red and black colored robes.
Skills and Abilities
Rune Magic - Simeon's greatest skill is in transcribing a spell onto a surface (paper, wood, etc) with runes so that they can be activated and cast the spell whenever necessary. To do this, one must still pay the price of magic that accompanies the spell in question. Usually, this can be paid through the consumption of magical items or ingredients of various kinds.
In addition, Simeon's also learned how to use a similar practice to bestow enchantments onto items, be they weapons, armor, or otherwise. This isn't a cheap process however, anything beyond a rudimentary enchantment requires other magical ingredients to properly cast. The process will consume the ingredients.
He now makes his living using both these skills to sell spells and enchanted items to customers.
Knowledge - Simeon's experience, both in adventuring and in academia, has made him very knowledgeable about Arethil and many of the things in it, especially as it pertains to danger. He can tell you a great deal about potential threats in the wild and how best to combat them. Assuming he's in a good mood.

Personality
Simeon's generally a grumpy wizard who frequently grumbles and complains about all the little things that bother him in life or about the foolishness of the younger. Even if said person is actually older than him, he'll just declare they're "young in spirit." This can make him a difficult person to befriend, except if you're persistent enough.
He enjoys his work, but it can be hard to believe given his normal attitude. He finds anyone who would treat it or the practice of magic flippantly foolish and won't hesitate to let them know. In fact, he'll do the same anytime he hears something ignorant. To the point that's the best way to get wanted information out of him, just say something wrong in his presence and he'll correct you.
Despite all this, Simeon isn't a bad man and can befriend others given enough time and patience. On rare occasions, he may even be in a good mood and will happily chat with others. But this is a rare occurrence.
