Elra Mistfall’s a mature elven woman with ties to many merchants throughout Alliria. She's a retired adventurer who’s now also the co-owner of both the Dragon’s Den and the Wyvern's Nest, alongside her sister Tanith Mistfall.

Appearance

She’s 5’11 in height with light, pinkish skin. She has a lithe body build like many elves and pointy ears as well. She has bright, curly red hair that she keeps tied into an updo. She has light green eyes and sharp facial features.

She usually wears a red and black dress that reaches her ankles in length. She wears a pair of silver bracelets on her wrists and a matching necklace around her neck. She wears a leather belt around her waist with a pouch attached to it.

While she rarely has need of it anymore, she has a suit of masterful armor. Her armor is a bright silver color, made of the finest and rarest of materials. The pauldrons, shoulders, and breastplate all have the image of a dragon carved onto them. When she dons her armor she'll often wear a red cloak over it.

Her longbow is red in color and forged from the skin of a wyvern. She also carries a silver-colored spear made from the same material as her armor.

Skills and Abilities

Alchemy and Medicine: Elra's trained in alchemy and medicine, able to craft potions and salves for minor to moderate injuries. Provided she has the right ingredients with her. She's no miracle worker, but she is a skilled doctor. She's proficient at crafting antidotes to poisons.

Archery: Elra was once the Red Company's finest archer. She's quite proficient at archery and has trained in it for over a hundred years. She has deadly accuracy but prefers to take her time to line up each shot, rather than relying on rapid-firing arrows.

Spearmanship: She's also skilled at combat with a spear, something she's been training in for just as long as archery. This isn't her preferred method of battle but she'll happily use it if an opponent closes in on her.

Enchanted Arrows: Elra has a number of enchanted arrows for when the situation demands it. However, while each is powerful, it has to be recharged after each use by a skilled enchanter. For this reason, Elra uses each arrow sparingly. Each type of arrow has different effects, one can pierce through steel, another can be set aflame to burn a target, another can freeze a target on impact, another can bend toward a target to a limited extent, and another can electrocute whatever it strikes.

Enchanted Cloak: Elra's cloak is enchanted to be resistant to things like heat, acid, or a stray arrow. It's not impenetrable by any means but can help protect against magic or various attacks like acid flasks or flames.

Personality

She’s a strait-laced and serious person with little humor in her. She focuses on carrying herself with dignity and grace, no matter the circumstances. While she’s usually polite, she’s also strict and finds rude, uncouth, or reckless behavior annoying and won’t hesitate to scold people for it if she ever witnesses it. Although she can sometimes act harsh, she cares about people more than she’ll ever admit.

She’s a perfectionist in her work, never being satisfied unless she’s done something absolutely right. This has naturally resulted in her putting herself through a lot of stress. Which can give her something of a short fuse while she’s working. Although she’ll usually be quick to apologize after an outburst.

She’s a diplomatic woman, one of many connections, all to various merchants, adventurers, or politicians. She’s cultivated these relationships over the years, giving her plenty of friends to call on when she needs them. This also makes her well-informed about the political situation of Alliria.

The Red Company

The Red Company was the name of Elra's former adventuring party. It's had many members over the course of its long history and accomplished many things. While far from a household name, they achieved a moderate amount of fame, mainly throughout the Allir Reach.

Biography & Lore

Elra and her sister Tanith were both born in Alliria to a wealthy merchant. When she was thirty years old, she and Tanith joined a party of adventurers consisting of Elra, Tanith, and Radrick the Enchanter. While other party members would come and go, the three of them would remain together through all their adventures. They were nicknamed the Red Company due to the color of Elra and Tanith’s hair, and the color of Radrick’s draconian skin.

The three adventured together for a hundred years. For the first five years as bounty hunters. Their actions included…
  • Catching notorious criminal Radis the Gold in a war that led them throughout the Allir Reach. This inadvertently sparked their desire to adventure.
  • The Red Company, both current and former members banded together to defeat a vicious bandit tribe that once tried to raid a village.
  • Finding the treasure of a shipwrecked pirate ship, lost on the Gulf of Liad.
  • Dispatching a cult that worshiped the Three. They consisted of multiple branches and were spread throughout multiple lands. It took seven years to properly dispose of.
  • Slaying a rogue vampire that stalked the streets of Alliria, killing dozens. To catch him, they had to get information from Crime Lord Zilvra, who helped on account of the vampire killing one of her own.
But their greatest and most time-consuming feat was their war against Ajax, a marauding dragon who aspired to kingship and to conquer Alliria. Although he might not have succeeded ultimately, he controlled many bandits and had many agents throughout the Allir Reach.

Ajax himself raided many merchant vessels and caravans, amassing a massive horde of treasure in his lair. He’d become such a nuisance that the Merchant Council promised whoever slew the dragon that they could keep his entire horde for themselves.

When the Red Company first started interfering with his plans, he sent many agents to kill them. This led to a longstanding conflict between the two parties that lasted nearly fifty years. Finally, the Red Company, past and present members, came together and launched an attack on Ajax himself. Slaying the dragon.

She received the title "Dragon's Bane" on account of being the one to deal the killing blow to Ajax. She did so by launching an enchanted arrow into his heart.

Now rich from their share of the dragon's treasure. Elra retired alongside her sister and helped build the Dragon’s Den. She took on the role of being the alchemist and doctor.
