Radis the Gold
Radis the Gold is an infamous criminal who once ruled Alliria’s underworld. He’s not your typical crime lord and looks more like a nobleman or foreign dignitary at a glance. But all his splendor and charisma are only a mask for ruthlessness, greed, and sadism.
Appearance
He’s 6’1 in height with long blond hair that falls three inches past his shoulders in length. He leaves it loose except when in battle. He has light skin that almost looks to be a goldish color at a glance. He has bright blue eyes and a fit body build. He has a slight scar on the top right side of his head from an arrow that grazed him.
He dresses in bright, fancy clothes with a great deal of jewelry as a show of wealth. The two constants are his gold earrings and a gold ring with a ruby embedded in it, worn on his right index finger.
He wears an ankle-length cloak of gold rings over his normal clothing. Not unlike a suit of chainmail but made of gold. He carries a saber with a thin steel blade and a gold hilt.

Skills and Abilities
He practices a variation of Economancy. Wherein he sacrifices materials in exchange for power.
He’s found a way to determine the financial cost and value of magic spells based on the time needed to learn them, how it would cost to pay someone to teach one to you, and the impact that it has once cast. This allows him to use Economancy to cast offensive spells against his foes. However, he can only cast spells that he’s thoroughly researched and has the money to pay for.
The Regalia Cloak: His gold cloak is an enchanted item brought into being by Economancy. The gold rings are as strong as steel and make for good armor as a result. But its chief ability is activated by the sacrifice of a few more coins, this causes the rings of the cloak to shine and surround the wearer in a shimmer of magic that acts as a ward against attacks, both magical and otherwise. That said, this shield will deactivate after a few seconds and will require another payment to reactivate.
Swordsmanship: Radis is skilled with a saber, trained in many different forms over his centuries of living. His usual style is fanciful and polished, taught to him early in his life by the finest tutors.
Intellect and Tactics: Despite his eccentricities, Radis is a shrewd and intelligent man. He knows all the usual tactics of criminals and how best to counteract them. He’s also knowledgeable in the areas of magic and economics.

Personality
He’s a charismatic individual whose lighthearted behavior masks his inner cruelty. He’s friendly to his own and treats them all fairly, even forgiving temporary setbacks and failures, all so he can foster their loyalty. In truth, he’s a selfish man who only cares for others as long as their existence benefits him. Anything that doesn’t provide more coin for him will soon become a victim of his extortion, blackmail, abduction, or murder. Even for a crime lord, he’s known for his ruthlessness toward his victims. Often, he’ll target families, and never with idle threats or even abduction, only ever with murder or assault.
He’s an obsessively greedy man whose greatest goal in life is to amass treasure for himself so that he can live a lavish life of decadence and hedonism. He doesn’t just inflict pain or death because it’s necessary for his business, he often does it because he’s a sadist who enjoys causing suffering. He’s also a vain person who puts himself on a pedestal and believes himself to be the greatest, most brilliant, and most handsome criminal mastermind to ever haunt Alliria.
His policy when it comes to dealing with resistance is simple, every action taken against him will be met with a crueler retaliation. So that eventually he’ll either eradicate his enemies or break their spirit.

The Radiant Flame
Radis' gang is known as the Radiant Flame, once widespread, they've been severely diminished due to their leader being imprisoned for so long. Now that he's free they've started to rebuild. They have a large amount of money behind them. Giving them access to good-quality weapons and armor. Each bears the mark of a flame somewhere on their body, usually their shoulders.
Members of the Radiant Flame are divided into three different categories.
Grunts: The average low-level criminal employed by the Flame. They're untrained and inexperienced, but make up for it with numbers and equipment. They generally wear padded clothes for protection and carry weapons like knives, clubs, or short swords.
Arsons: Where the Radiant Flame got their name. This is a practice that dates to before Radis' time. These members are sent to burn down buildings, businesses, or even people that defy them. There are a few pyromancers among their ranks.
The Vultures: Called such because their job is to kill people and loot their belongings after the fact. They serve as the Flame's main enforcers. They're fully armed and armored for battle and have the experience to match it. These are the Flame's elite and therefore are less common than other members.

Biography & Lore
Radis wasn’t born in poverty or to a criminal. No, rather he was born rich, to wealthy parents in the Merchant Class of Alliria. He had all he could ever ask for and more, yet even then he wasn’t satisfied. Even being wealthy beyond most men’s wildest dreams wasn’t enough, and so he began to find new ways to make money, first through morally dubious means, later through crime.
When his corrupt actions were noticed, Radis fled and escaped into the general public. This is where his life of crime would begin in earnest. It wasn’t an easy rise to power for him, he worked his way up through the ranks of his gang like anyone else would have to. Day by day he learned new skills until he became well-versed in criminal tactics and living a criminal life.
Finally, when he was 153 years old, he became the leader of his own gang. One he grew over the next two hundred years into a criminal empire. He amassed power and fortune for himself, which he either invested or hid away. Eventually, he’d learn the arts of Economancy and use it to craft the Regalia Cloak and train himself in battle magic.
For decades he ruled the Shallows and his influence reached far throughout the Allir Reach. Radis became bored at the top of his power for a time but soon found amusing opponents in the form of the Red Company under Elra and Tanith Mistfall. He eluded them for a decade until they unexpectedly managed to corner him. Radis was arrested and thrown in prison for the next ninety years.
Even in prison, he wasn’t idle, continuing to train his body and mind. Though on the outside his criminal empire fell to ruin, he bided his time and has recently escaped captivity. Now free, he looks to rebuild his empire and drive out those who took power in his place.
