Appearance

The Harlot of Mardiakhor first appears as a regular Elvish woman of moderate lengthy age. Pale skin, high cheekbones with hollow cheeks, a pointed jaw and pointed dears. But, come closer – and if you are lucky, when she is more revealed, you will see an elf covered from head to toe in arcane tattoos. Beautiful, bewitching and sinister in her physical charms.

All over her muscular and slender form are tattoos – some glyphs, some pentagrams, some unintelligible art and others chaotic mixtures of them all. Interlacing and slithering they run up Harlot’s arms, legs, chest, neck and even her face. Her arms are impressively encased in sleeves of winding and entangled cryptic script, symbols, and visages of mysterious figures. Her forearms are bound in tattooed linked chains and each of her fingers bare a glyph encased in a circlet. It all runs up her arms and crawls across her collarbones. Even her face is decorated with tattooed accessories. Below edge of her right eye is a small dagger weeping tiny tears of blood. While the left is flanked by a large collection of crescent and curved characters that assemble together to create the shape of a triangle, with an all-seeing eye in the middle. And at the center of her forehead was a small black dot with serpentine sun rays.

Besides her decorated body, her clothes are well decorated as well. Black kaftan with black brocade patterns, held at the waist by a black leather bodice with a worn belt running through its loops. Black trousers, black boots and black cloak cover the rest of her form, while her weapons hang from her bodice and belt.

Skills and Abilities

Magical Skills
Harlot is called so due to her powerful connections with magical beings, gods/goddesses and other ethereal spirits from which she derives her magic. It is an ancient, and very dangerous, form of sorcery that is known in Common as PACT MAGIC. Pact Magic involves the user entering into Pacts (soul binding spells) that chain the user's very soul, very existence to a Patron Idol from which magical powers are derived. This Pact can be codified by many means - Harlot chooses to ink a new ensorcelled tattoo to mark the pact's completion. When finished, the user is in effect bound to the Patron Idol and the relationship could sometimes not be mutual.

Notable Pact Spells:
Spell: Soul Chains
Tattoo: Chain Links (Wrapped around Forearms)
Magic Involved: Blood Magic (Dark Magic), Lithomancy
Patron Idol: Naspar, God of Scholarship and Magic (Annunakian Six)
Description: When summoned Harlot can unleash a whipping, lashing and binding lengthy strand of chains made of pure chaotic energy. They appear like chain links but a bubbling and burning green fire. They can restrain physical and incorporeal objects and persons. The chains literally come from her tattoos, as the tattoos turn into Soul Chains, as such they spring forth from her forearms.

Spell: Draconis Pyromancia
Tattoo: Wyvern Eating its Tale (Throat)
Magic Involved: Pyromancy, Lithomancy
Patron Idol: Simurgyan (Elvish Serpent Diety)
Description: A fairly simple spell which involves breathing fire like a dragon from the deep beneath the throat. The flames can be unleashed as one massive belching torrent or Harlot can spit bolts of molten fire that stick and burn.

Spell: Shadow Conjurlings
Tattoo: Black Sun (forehead)
Magic Involved: Shadowmancy, Lithomancy
Patron Idol: Eleth the Unknowable.
Description: Harlot can someone small and numerous sprites of shadow that can sneak into spots, attack targets in the dark or rapidly assemble together to form a hulking shadow beast to do her bidding. However, these sprites can only operate in shadow and darkness, and are weak to light (magical or natural).

Other Skills
Saber Dancer
Description: Harlot can use a saber rather well. Too well for some. She is well versed in the Art of the Saber Dancer, a school of sword fighting native to Amol-Kalit (first formed by the Saber Dancers of Mardiakorr). The sword school emphasizes overwhelming an opponent with sweeping, crescent, spinning and slashing choreography that confuses and consumes.

Part-Time Bard
Description: Harlot knows how to play the lute and can sing a few tunes.

Personality

Biography & Lore

The Harlot of Mardiakhor is an infamous resident of the famed city and region. A ruthless and unpredictable Spellsword (i.e. Sorceress Sellsword), she is often consulted for things illicit, clandestine, treacherous or shadowy. But, she has been known for her moments of heroism and chivalry. It depends on the client, and the target. But, that is the bewitching intrigue of the Harlot - she works for anyone, for any reason, for any cause - all for the same high price. However, details of where she came from and who she was before gaining the moniker of "harlot" is unknown. Still rumors are abound and swarm around her.

Harlot is over 350 years old, a middle-aged elf to other elves and seemingly immortal to the human poor folk who live short troubled lives in the slums around the great city. Some have whispered that she was once an Elvish Princess, cursed by some malevolent monstrosity that warped into the Harlot. Others said she was a Amol-Kalit slave whore who had fallen in love with a demon and become its wife, transforming into the Harlot (who is well known for her almost succubi appetite). But, what is commonly known is during some time in the deep past of Amol-Kalit, Harlot arrived and was once an advisor to the Amol-Kalit Emperors of old before retiring to be a Spellsword.

In her long history she has assassinations, lovers, wars, killings, blood feuds, bard's duels and regular duels in the hundreds. These days ever foul thing or heroic feat has Harlot's name in their somewhere. But, what is legend and what is fact?

The very first official record of Harlot is in Ragash during the reign of the Shah of Wrath, Shah Fayzan, 150 years ago. As his Arch Sorcerer, she lead the armies of Ragash in the infamous Blood Feuds with the other Great Cities of Amol-Kalit. She personally lead the Cadre of the Red Dancers (a group of sorcerer Saber Dancers) during the Burning of Annuakat. Indeed, Shah Fayzan was a victory away from becoming the Supreme Sultan of Amol-Kalit, before Harlot herself lead a rebellion and slaughtered the Shah and his royal family - helping to install the long dynasty of the Ghulam Shahs. It said her tolerance for politics soured and she left Ragash to not return for another 100 years.

Another account is her arrival to Mardiakhor, where she now remains as her permanent residence. ...More Soon...
