She dreamed of very cold stones in front of a fireplace long not used. She was small...three or four... and wore tattered clothing. Ash smeared her skin and thin tunic.
"At least she was cute when she was a baby."
"Still entertaining, though. C'mon stupid human! Sort out the ash like we told you so and then you get a slice of this bread" The fae held up a piece of moldy bread, barely glamored to look like something edible. Fraeya was cold, tired, and hungry. But her mouth watered at the first mention of food that she'd heard in days.
"Oy, what's that? Someone's outside..."
The dream shifted as her body relaxed beneath a layer of warmth she was unaware of.
It was the soft light of dawn that finally stirred her awake. Sitting up, she looked around the camp. "You should've woken me for a watch," she said gently, frowning when she looked downward and realized she was wrapped up in his cloak.
Quickly disentangling herself, she stood prepared for the soreness of muscles and surprised not to feel them. She knew she healed quickly now but still. Without making it look like she was being intentional about taking care to fold his cloak, she held it out to Raphael.
