Once the others she worked with understood what she was doing, and could take over, she headed to the well, grabbing the buckets and heading out of the village. She headed to a river nearby and began collecting mud in the buckets. She headed back, beginning to cover the wood in mud, where the logs met, sealing them. This would keep in warmth in the winter, and it would help to keep the sun out, which would help to keep the home cool in the summer. By the end of the day, with the three males building the walls, the female braiding and running the vines, and Seph coating the walls in mud, the walls were nearly shoulder height. Now was time for the roofing.
Nightfall was soon coming, but they were on a roll. Seph told the 4 others that they could go to bed, but she wanted to continue working through the night, if
Baraek would allow it. With excess logs she began making the ceiling on the forest floor. She would make a simple A shaped roof, the point of the roof would allow for them to stand in the home, though towards the walls, the home would be a little on the smaller side. This was the first one she built, perhaps it would be for storage and no one would live in it, if it was deemed to inconvenient with the shortness of the walls, but it could be a home easily if ducking slightly did not bother them.
She weaved the vines between the logs on the ground working on one side of the ceiling then making the second. Hours passed into the night and she stood both sides up, lifting a log in the middle to tie to where the 2 sides came together. She weaved the braided vines around all the logs, and around the middle log that ran their length. In the morning she would have the males lift the ceiling to its place and she would put 2 more logs, one in the back and one in the front, to hold the middle log and the ceiling up. She yawned slightly and headed to her and Baraek’s den for a few hours sleep.
