Vel Acan -Eromir Arena
Team: Crimson Drakes
Roll: 9

Mieri leaned down, softly running her fingers through the grass as she looked around and marveled at the arena they found themselves in.

When all of this had started she had never really imagined it would get them to...here.

Anirball was a mainstay of Anirian society, had been since anyone could really remember. Ordinarily it was played by regular ol' folks, or well, athletes who were toned and trained for weeks on end for the sport specifically. Nearly every major Anirian City had a team of some sort, those sponsored by the Great Houses tending to be better than others.

It had become so ubiquitous that even retired Dreadlords at times played and had come up with rules for themselves utilizing their magics.

The Academy, in all it's wisdom, had decided that Anirball might be a grand training tool for the Initiates. A notion which was followed up upon almost immediately. The sport being seen as a way to teach both team cohesion, and a more intricate control of the Initiate's magic while still maintaining some level of competitiveness.

Mieri, obviously, signed up almost immediately.

Once the Initiate's had been gathered, and the Proctors in charge had gotten the proper clearances, the small group was sent to the only arena which could handle a Dreadlord style of play; Vel Acan.

After a few more seconds of looking around, Mieri gathered with the others and listened to the Proctors go over the rules one more time. She nodded her head, shockingly actually paying attention, and then the two teams were quickly chosen. Mieri pulled on her over-top Crimson Drake's shirt, smiling at the little dragon that had been stitched onto her shoulder as the two teams lined up.

"I'M GOING TO TEAR YOU DOWN LIKE A FUCKING CLOWN!" She shouted over to her opponents, and then the whistle sounded, ball snapping in the air.

Mieri darted forward in an instant, running at full speed and launching herself in the air. Using the back of one of the Initiate's in front of her as a kicking off point, she soared into the sky, snatching the ball before anyone else could touch it. Landing behind the enemies line of scrimmage, half-turning, and offering them a smirk before she turned on her heel and began to spring towards the goals.

Concept:
Hi guys! I thought I'd try a new fun type of thread that lots of people could get involved with while also fleshing out character relationships, teamwork, and their magic!
OOC Rules;
1. Don't be a dick.
2. There are 2 teams, at the beginning of your post, label which team you're on.
3. If your character is going after the ball, Roll a die. If your Dice roll is higher than the Ball Owners dice roll, you get the ball. Please be kind to your fellow writers in how your characters gets the ball. To keep this from stacking, and encourage the ball to move, the next dice roll is required to be lower. Example; Mieri starts with the ball and rolled a 23, Leander tried to take it from her and succeed rolling a 69, Soleil then runs in and succeeds at taking the ball with a 22, etc. The Ball Owner must put their dice roll at the top of the post.

IC Rules:
1. The Object of the game is to get the goal through one of the three goals. The one on the Ground(1 point), The one in the air(3 points), and the one in the middle(2 points).
2. Magic use is encouraged and allowed, however; Popping the ball is an immediate 5 point penalty to the other team. Popping the ball will happen when someone uses their magic directly on the ball, a d100 will be rolled. if it is below 10 or above 90 the ball pops. Anywhere inbetween its fine.
3. Permanently injuring a competitor is an immediate forfeit of your team.

"SCRUMP HER, FAST!"
Leadership was never anything Thraah wanted but Anirball was the sole exception to that rule.
Even as young as four years old she was hollering at other kids to play with her.
From the backline she saw it all. Mieri snatched the ball gaining possession in the first instant and was barreling against her.
Thraah smiled, she was short too and fast. She rushed ahead to meet Mieri in the centre of their side of the arena and squared her body to force a tackle to stop Mieri's headstrong advance.
Which she did, shoulder checking Mieri while snatching the ball from her hands at the moment of impact.
"HEHEHE, EAT MY DUST *MARY*!"
Insults were a staple of the game, at least for Thraah. So as she began to head for the mid field she was feeling pretty good about herself.

"Fuck." Livia's heart sunk at the sight of Mieri colliding into Thraah and the ball now securely held in her hands as she moved towards her way. She was good at sports, it was just... participating in team sports such as this that made Livia Quinnick nervous. They had stuck her on defense, nothing for her to worry too much on until now.

There always been a sort of rivalry between herself and the fire-wielder, one she could not recall when it began, but it was no secret that Thraah could be crafty with her unfair play.

Magic could not help her here.

Thraah was quick, a surprise to Liv as she jumped from one foot to the other in preparation, darting to meet the one occupying the ball. Her execution was perfect, hands able to grasp onto the ball before it was easily ripped from her fingers and her entire body crashing with the unstoppable might that was Thraah. Liv landed on her arm, wincing and hissing at the sharp pain shooting up her side.

"Fuck." Livia seethed, knowing her failure would only fuel the other Initiate to no end.
