Compulsion. "Yes...I don't know..."

Why was she being forced to answer him?

"What the fuck is happening? Why do I have to listen..." Her eyes snapped up. "You ordered me after I compelled the servants. Why would you do that? I am here with you...do you not trust me?"

She tried to pull away from him but he held the back of her neck tightly.

He would have to find a more permanent way of controlling her, Coran decided. "Trust you?"

The Demon echoed.

"Of course I trust you." He told her softly, the hand at the back of her neck still a guiding force. "Why else would I bring you here? Why else would I tell you what I've told you?"

His words slipped into her ears. "You already know more about my people than a thousand scholars in this world. Than any fae possibly could."

Coran slowly leaned in. "Is that not trust? I want whats best for you, for us."

Genevieve relaxed. He was right. He wouldn't have her here if he didn't trust her. Yeah, that made sense. She closed her eyes and let out the breath she didn't know she was holding.

For us.

"I'm sorry. I just feel so weird. Maybe I just need to lay down," she said finally.

Coran's fingers gently caressed the back of Genevieve's neck. "That's a good idea."

He told her softly, leaning down so that he could press a soft kiss on her cheek. A small smile touched his lips as he lingered there for a moment, taking in that sickening sweet scent she gave off. He could practically taste the magic that coursed through her.

"Why don't you go lay down?" He beckoned.

"I'll bring you a drink." Coran continued. "Make sure you're comfortable."

One could almost have called him caring, doting even. His words spun through the air like a spell, coaxing Genevieve in the direction he desired.

Genevieve couldn't say no to his suggestion. The compulsion was strong even though she had already decided she needed to lay down. He didn't need to order her.

She nodded and stood. The servant girl from earlier guided her from the dining room and to the master suite of the castle.

It was huge! Multiple rooms connected to a sitting room area. She quickly found the bedroom and stripped off her clothing. Once she was comfortably in the nude, she pulled the covers back and crawled into the bed.

Genevieve rubbed her forehead. Why did her head hurt so bad? It was extremely irritating.

It was a few minutes later that Coran arrived in the room, though there was no telling how he'd actually managed to find her. In his hand was a glass of wine, though the color of it was far darker than any vintage most would have seen before. In his other hand was what appeared to be a small book, though where he'd gotten it from was yet another mystery.

He smiled as he approached the bed. "Here."

Coran told her as he took a few more steps and then sat himself down on the bed besides her. He held the glass out to her, holding it by the rim.

"This will make you feel better." He continued. "Make sure to drink it all."

The demon told her softly.

When she brought it to her nose Genevieve would be able to smell the wine. It was sweeter than one might have expected, smelling of fruit and something else. Coran sat there and smiled.

Genevieve took the glass from Coran and drank some of it. It was very sweet. She wasn't sure she had ever drank anything this sweet before. She didn't question it. She drank it all like Coran had told her do and then she hand the glass back to him.

She closed her eyes and let out a happy sigh. Her headache already disappearing. She rested her head on his shoulder. "Thank you," she said softly.

It was a few minutes and the headache had disappeared completely.

Coran smiled. "You're welcome."

It had been a few days since he had last fed her his blood. In the back of his mind he had timed it all out, setting the pace to ensure that he would know. It had been longer than he thought it would be, but he marked it in his mind.

He would have to give it to her sooner next time. "Get some sleep."

Did Fae even need sleep?

"There is a long day ahead tomorrow.' Coran whispered quietly. "It's time for some rest."

Genevieve nodded and kissed Coran softly on the cheek before she shimmed down under the blankets completely. She was surprisingly tired after all the travel and it did not take long for her to fall asleep. Her dreams were very strange. Dark. Darker than normal.

The next morning, Genevieve felt like a new woman. She noticed that Coran was not in the bed with her and that caused her to frown. Where was he? She wrapped the blanket around herself and left the suite. This was her castle. She didn't need to put on clothing.

She walked barefoot down the hall looking for her Demon with a sense of panic the longer she went without finding him.

Coran was standing on the largest of the many balconies in the castle. His eyes were closed, and he seemed entirely focused. There was an odd sort of aura hanging around him, his body tense even as the bay doors opened behind him.

The air was surprisingly warm as Genevieve stepped outside. Wind brushed over the balcony, but the sun shone down. ”Good morning.”

Coran said as he opened his eyes.

He still stared off into the distance, and as the Fae stepped further out onto the balcony she would see that one of the servants was cast onto the floor. His throat had been slit, and odd markings sat arrayed around him.

”Did you sleep well?” Coran said, turning towards her with a smile.

The Fae stepped onto the balcony and her head tilted to the side as she looked at the servant. She came to stand next to her Demon and looked over at him with her own smile. "I slept very well, thank you. That wine helped a lot. I feel much better today," she answered.

She looked back down at the dead man with the markings around him. "What were you doing with him?" Genevieve finally asked Coran once her studying was complete.

He glanced at the corpse. "I found the mark of my Kindred on him."

Coran explained with a frown, his eyes drawing away from the body a second later as he looked back up at Genevieve.

"It seemed the Lord of this Castle shared his belief with some of the servants." Not too surprising from what he understood of human society. It would not have been impossible that the Servants thought they would curry more favor if they were of the same worship.

"The markings are...human magic." He frowned. "A ritual to trace my kind."

More than a few Templar had used it to try and track him. "Whoever has come is hiding well."

There was an edge to his tone for the first time.

Genevieve gently took Coran's hand and squeezed it. "We will find him," she responded with a genuine, trying to comfort smile.

"Did you find anything useful?" She asked as she looked out over her lands. It was quite beautiful and it was all hers. Thanks to Coran. He was so sweet to her. She was pretty sure Demons weren't sweet but hers was.

"We will." He said calmly, though he still wished he knew at the very least which of them it was.

Those who required the worship of mortals were weak, but cunning. Their time beyond the veil had rarely been pleasant. It was never good, not for any of them. The Abyss was dark, quiet, suffering and calamity like no mortal could ever understand.

Yet those above looked down on those below. A truth that held here in Arethil as well as his own home. "A trail, perhaps."

He mused.

"For the fat little man who once owned this place." Belgrath the servant had said, but the dead man's blood gave a more pointed portrait.

"When do you want to leave?" Her castle would still be here once they took care of this concern. She did not like to see Coran look so...worried? She wasn't sure but whatever. He was fretting and she didn't like it. They needed to find the fat little former lord of the castle and get the information out of him.

"I just need to get dressed," she stated as if her standing there wrapped in her blanket at the moment.

Coran turned back towards Genevive, smiling at her. He masked any of the emotion that had been there just a second ago. He reached out and gently ran his knuckles over her cheek in a soft caress.

He knew the timing now of the blood. When it was that she would need to be fed more. An utter disaster would unfolold if he lost control of her during the midst of their journey. Particularly in they stumbled upon his Kindred. He would have to be careful.

”Tonight, I think.” There was no need to rush, not yet.

”I believe it will be best if we travel in…comfort.” There were carriages in the Castle, horses. He had already inquired about such things to some of the Servants. ”And…”

He mused. ”I think I will be needing a new body soon.”

"You know the way to my heart, Coran," Genevieve said with a smile and turned to walk back into the castle when his next words stopped her. A new body? How fascinating is that. She was curious how exactly that worked.

"Just make sure he is hot, please!" She winked at him over her shoulder and continued to saunter off. She wanted someone who she could enjoy looking at. No use being about to change bodies if you got someone ugly.

Genevieve ate some breakfast and then disappeared onto the castle grounds. She did not do much but she liked being outside here and it was quite. Her mind was quiet, the world was quiet...it was nice.

Coran smiled as she made her small demand. "There are a few days yet left."

He mused before she departed.

"I'll let you decide on our journey." The skin he wore never much bothered him. Whether it was one or the other hardly ever seemed to matter. Sure the reactions were different, but what did he care for the passion of mortals?

A flicker of a smile rushed over his face, and then he allowed her to depart. Over the next few hours Coran set things into place, gathering what he needed and ensuring that everything was just as it was supposed to be.

By the time the sun set a carriage was already waiting for them in the courtyard of the castle, sitting and waiting for their departure. Coran was the first there, tying off an odd bundle of things on the back of one of the horses.

Genevieve had found a lovely little pond to spend her day at. She really just spent it relaxing. She had no idea what she thought about. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe she just liked the quiet out here. She actually ended up falling asleep at some point and eventually made her way back to the castle.

She walked down the front steps of the castle into the courtyard. She was wearing a long flowy black dress with sheer long sleeves and a high neck. She had not chosen the high neck to make it difficult for Coran to bite her. Well...maybe she had unconsciously.

The fae walked up to Coran and smiled at him. "This is fancy!"

"Nothing but the best for you, my lovely." Coran said as Genevieve approached, a false smile flickering over his face.

"Do you have everything you need?" The Demon asked. "Servants know to watch your Keep for you?"

As he spoke Coran stepped towards her, his hand brushing against her thigh. Fingers softly grasped and pulled her close. Pressing his body against hers in an unconscious conquest. "I would hate for you to lose the first of your presents."

He whispered.

"There's so many more to come." Lips brushed against hers. "I want you to have a place to keep them."

"Yes, I sent my bag down a little bit ago with one of the servants."

Genevieve let out a surprised giggle as Coran pulled her tight against him. "Of course, I did, Coran. I would never leave this glorious place unattended like it's previous lord did...these servants...they will die for me before they let someone take it."

She let his lips brush hers and she unconsciously tensed. No one could blame her since the last few times had ended with blood everywhere.

Coran did not bite her this time.

A craving had long since settled in a few days ago, a hunger for that magic, but there was more to be gained yet. Satisfaction came with time, he knew that better than most beings. So instead he simply kissed her, and then gently urged her towards the Carriage.

”Then I think it best we depart, my dear.” He said, gesturing to one of the servants from afar.

”We’ll have to make some stops along the way.” He contended quietly. ”Pick up a new body.”

Coran mused. ”And perhaps some other things.”

As he spoke the two of them moved up the small wooden staircase at the side of the carriage, climbing inside into the plush comfort that was on display. A bottle of wine was already waiting for them, chilled in a small decanter.

Genevieve was surprised but she didn't say anything to him. She was not sure why he had kissed her and not bitten her. Strange. She mentally shrugged because it didn't matter. She would do whatever Coran wanted her to do. He got her a castle and he let her rule. He truly understood her. He really was perfect.

Sure...it was all because he had control over her but she didn't know that.

The fae stepped into the carriage and took her seat on one of the padded benches. She crossed her long legs as she waited for Coran to join her.

Coran glanced around the courtyard for a moment, frowning, and then slipped into place just opposite Genevieve.

The door of the carriage closed behind them, one of the servants pressing it closed. There was a quiet click, and then the Demon reached out to grab two glasses from the corner of the room. He smiled and began to pour Genevieve a glass of wine.

A quiet thud echoed out a second later, and then they would feel the slight shake of the carriage as they began to move. "It's going to be a long trip, Darling."

Coran said as he offered her the glass.

"What shall we do to pass the time?" The Demon asked.

Genevieve took the glass and thanked the Demon. She, honestly, had no idea what to do to pass the time. She could think of something but part of her mind kept her from suggesting that. She took a sip of the wine and looked out the window.

"Would...would you like to talk about something?" She asked quietly as she looked back over at Coran. She was not really sure what Demons did when they traveled. She wasn't really sure what anyone did since she just traveled ley line.
