Drakon, also known as the Dragon God, is the cosmic god of nature and the only non-humanoid god. He is a major god of Celestialism.

Mythology

Drakon is considered to be one of the three primordial deities of Celestialism – alongside Astra and Aionus. One popular sect believes that he is one of the first deities born from the abyss.

Depictions of Drakon show him as a giant, serpentine dragon. He is the only non-humanoid god of the Cosmic Pantheon.

Instead of Astra, Drakon is credited as the creator of Arethil itself. The mighty and complicated mechanisms of nature are said to all be Drakon’s creation.

In addition, Drakon is shown to have little interest in the Races of Arethil as he maintains the world. As a result, he normally causes natural disasters out of oversight rather than maliciousness. These natural disasters are seen as necessary to keep Arethil from dying.

Drakon is also the creator of the non-humanoid species of Arethil – ranging from the smallest bug to the largest whales. Dragons are his favored creation and Drakon ensured that they were given the freedom to roam all of Arethil.

Even though Drakon departed with the rest of the Cosmic Pantheon at the end of the Noxomarchy, he remains involved with the heartbeat of Arethil and maintains the world from afar. Drakon has never had a humanoid Voice.

Drakon only gives his favor to those of the Races that slay a Greater Dragon. Slaying a Greater Dragon is seen as one way to achieve immortality since having the ability to do so usually means that individual has gained the favor of at least one other god.
