The weather was really something today. The sun was out, hardly any clouds in the sky, and yet there was still a slight chill in the air. Nothing that bothered Kalix, if anything, the cool air mixed with the weak rays of the sun was perfect napping weather for the dreadlord initiate.
On the academy grounds, Kalix had found the perfect spot that allowed him to stretch out comfortably and soak up all the weak sunlight he wanted. Besides, it was free period, what was he supposed to do other than nap? Go to the library and study like some nerd like Meredith? Plant weeds like Chasmine? His way of relaxing after trying not to sleep through his classes was to sleep some more. He could sleep for nearly the whole day if he was able to, after all, he only ever felt fully awake after midnight and before the sun rose.
Despite being the actual embodiment of anger issues, Kalix had a peaceful look on his sleeping face. It was a light sleep, a part of him was faintly aware of what was going on around him. Such as the fact that there were currently three cats on him. He had given them names, Stripes, Whiskers and Patches.
Patches was a tortoiseshell who liked to lay right on Kalix’s chest and stare down at him. Stripes was the smallest and always managed to curl up into the crook of his neck where it meant his shoulder. Stripes also had a bad habit of sucking on his earlobe as they kneaded their paws into his black hair. And last, but not least, was Whiskers. Whiskers was a little devil, much like Kalix, who also never seemed at peace unless they were asleep. He had curled himself up partially at Kalix’s side. Kalix had one arm protectively over Whiskers.
Don’t tell Patches or Stripes, but Whiskers was most definitely the favorite. Kalix’s nose twitched, but the rest of his body was still. From far away, Kalix may have looked dead as it was such a harsh contrast to his usual demeanor.
