Welcome traveller, welcome to the Rumour Mill, where we mill rumours and spread the word about the myriad of happenings in the whole wide world. Some true, some false, but enticing nonetheless.

The world of Arethil is large and many events transpire over time, while the visible wounds of those events may be scars and the perpetrators long gone, the spoken word always finds a way. Sometimes things may be just too hard to track over so many threads and some other topics may remain in the public consciousness for a long time (coughcoughsiegeofbelgrathscough). On other times you may want to point out a particular character of notoriety or simply impressive yet dubious services. Or maybe you just need an interesting topic to gossip about or converse. Getting the word out on some recent happenings might give good way as well.

Summary from 'The curious murder in Seluca'

Constantine of Mirapol is the Basileus of Seluca, a well-fortified port town and vassal state to the cities of Cairou.
Since its forceful change of leadership some five years ago, its architecture has become a mishmash of Sereti and eastern buildings. Most of the temples dedicated to the various Annunaki gods have also been defaced and converted into their Celestial equivalents and replacements. Notably, Hushur's temple has had its motifs changed to that of Astra.
The people, of course, were less than pleased with it, yet they endured quietly.

Seluca, which lies in the northern coastline has been conquered by one of the cities from the Cariou. As when rulerships changes, so do other details of life. It's temples have been defaced and replaced with their celestialist equivalents to ease in the transition. The general idea of the ruling monarch was to assimilate its people and convert them to a more 'correct' religion.

Some people accept it, some do not. Many continue to pray to their rightful deities in private, despite prosecution being low.
Dissatisfaction among the people, however, is high, considering Basileus was murdered in a public event.
