Open Chronicles They Might Be Giants

A roleplay open for anyone to join
The hide wasn't taking long to get to decently done. There was no chance he could get it fully prepared right now but he was getting to as much as he could given the circumstances. Having a familiar and common task to do also helped his nerves. He couldn't fully forget that a pair of giants were devouring a deer behind him with sounds similar to a bear feasting on a fawn but he was getting to the point he could kind of pretend like it was all just a campfire tale.

That little delusion was shattered when the giantess, who was not even taking the time to properly cook her meal, suddenly commanded him to eat. He stopped messing with the hide and looked back at them. "I'm paying my respects to the animal. Want to waste as little as I can." He then turned his attention back to it and frowned a bit. As much as could be expected to be done was done already for it. He took it and set it away from the waste pile of not good organs.

Weylin cautiously approached the fire with the stone of good organs to eat. He set it over a safe place and then grabbed an unused stick the giants hadn't thrown in the fire. He took his knife and removed the bark from the end before sharpening it. He placed it in the fire for a bit but not long enough for it to burn then pulled it out. It was now a perfect cooking stick for him without fear of unwanted bark or splinters.

The giants' conversation had caught Weylin's attention as he had worked on preparing his food. He had taken the time to actually cook it all well and so had time to think things over in his head. The male had mentioned the tales timing and the timing of the attacks didn't line up as well as they should. The frequency was too often. That could mean there was more than one dragon, but that ran the issue of how territorial the beasts were in the legends. He would say more so than giants and that was not an easy thing to claim. But there was something that it could be and would make sense if they were just like other creatures.

As Weylin pulled the cooked organs' rock off of the fire, thankful for his thick leather gloves too, he said, "Could be it is female with younglings." He paused as he got his stick and took a bite of some meat he had cooked. "Wolves, cats, bears, mink, deer, rams. All animals eat more when they are pregnant and caring for their kids. Humans are the same way." His gaze wandered over to Ragna as he added, "Giants are similar right? Well if it is either pregnant or caring for younglings then wouldn't it need to feed more often?" He went back to eating his meat. His starving belly was finally happy.
