[!] The Many People Of Alliria were spreading rumors throughout a tavern.
0Hm3A2J.png

The beautiful land of Alliria; had a green soil that could render envy to the most populated of nations for It was not only beautiful but flourished with life. Many different forms of life such as orcs, humans, gnomes, and more. The aforementioned races exchanged words, and items; they shared life in harmony and peace. Needless to say, this place had much communication with many other places to create a flow of socialism and merchandise; many merchants sought to create a name for their families and exchange goods there.

All the roads led to Alliria. Albeit, in one daring day- many rumors spread throughout the town from the high noble class to the simple guards, towards the lowest commoners. A voice perhaps, a legend untold. On a road towards the south level from the outside of the city; merchants stopped to travel through it for a reddish beast was preventing anyone to go through it. Even Guards that were sent to check out If it were true did not come back to tell the story. Or well, only one did but he was too shocked and wounded to talk but anyone could interact with him in the inner of the city.

Nevertheless, a pair of adventures sought to see If this menace was true or well, anyone who was unaware of the beast's presence. Traveling across the land, reaching the aforementioned road. Anyone with the sheer capability to see would behold that this beast was a daemonic one of towering size to the point that carried a small tree behind her back but she was by no means as statuesque as a true giant yet someone should not underestimate her at all. It was the greater devil; Jezebeth-Af-Malakath. She outshone anyone in her presence for her tattoos were as glowing as her mighty build; she bore serpentine eyes, four horns, and a large dragon-like tale. One could mistake her for a corrupted dragon but she was clearly not. She seemingly did not notice anyone, she sat on the side road with a shattered wagon beside her which hosted within its frame several fruits or meats alike that she was feasting upon easily; her large hand took a large handful of the food to only consume it through her golden razor teeth. It was clear that It was the wagon of a merchant but other than the bloodied soil, some crushed armor etc... She was seemingly resting after a gruesome battle.

Having said that, if someone were brave enough to approach the beast, they could see the many golden jewels, rings, necklaces, etc... perhaps someone could have attempted something while she was distracted. In addition, a very subtle cry could be heard. In fact, it was the merchant who was apparently beneath the draconic tail, pinned and lightly wounded. It was possible to steal, save the merchant, or communicate with Jezebeth in order to accomplish this. What were those who wield enough courage ready to do? Or would they go beyond the actual choices and surprise us all?

Light washed over within the inn room as the dull drapes did little to contain it. In the corner was a singular bed, and a dusty wooden stand just beside it. The floors looked as if they hadn't been swept in a while, but Eris didn't bother to complain. She expected to receive what she paid for; which was a simple, slightly shabby room just for one night.

Perhaps she can try and find a little more coin, so that the next night could be spent in a more likable place.

With a simple motion, Eris retrieved her tan cloak from the wooden stand and swung it over her slender shoulders. She continued to secure it in place by tying the leather strings that brought it together. Besides the cloak, Eris also wore a simple, white chemise and a kirtle of warm autumn colors just over it. Her attire was nothing fancy, but the Elves at least provided her with things that weren't an eye-sore.

There were a few times when the Elves had proclaimed that she didn't need fancy skirts or corsets, that her unusual red hair and golden eyes did enough to draw attention.

A part of her missed the Elves from Fal'Addas, and a part of her was gleeful to be free from their nagginess.

Eris was in Alliria now, and there was much for her to do. A new place . . and a new experience. What could go wrong?

After gathering the rest of her belongings, which was just her sash that went easily around her left shoulder, Eris left the room and descended down the stairs. Her hands found the hood of her cloak and pulled it over her face, as she headed into the direction of the door.

The innkeeper didn't bother uttering a word to the quiet woman. Just a simple nod of farewell as the innkeeper continued on with the discussion that she was having with one of the other commoners. "Have you heard of the disappearances that-" The rest of the innkeeper's words were cut off by the closing of the door as Eris pushed her way outside. It was possible that hanging around to hear the local gossip would have been a good idea, but the young woman was eager to get going. She wasn't the type to sit around doing nothing, and she had a long walk ahead of her.

This particular inn was located on the outskirts that ran from the far south of Alliria, which was away from the more crowded portion of the bustling city and not as prominent. To get to the more congested part of Alliria, Eris needed to follow the road that snaked towards the center.

Eris shifted her sash into a more comfortable position. It wasn't long during her little journey that a gentle rumble announced her growing hunger. Oh~ what she would give for a sweet bun pastry right about now.

But then her thoughts of pastries and sweet treats were suddenly corrupted by a sudden whiff of metallic. Eris wrinkled her small nose as the scent of blood became stronger the further she walked along the road. Instinctively, her hands clenched tightly onto the cloak as her eyes darted along the path. Searching for the source of the spilt blood.

This really wasn't what Eris was expecting, as the sight of splintered wood came into view. She quickly ducked down and hid herself behind a boulder. Luckily her small frame made it easy to hide against obstacles. But will she be able to make her way past the disaster that was up ahead?

The stone was cold against her fingers as Eris peered from the edge of the boulder. Her eyes searched through the destruction, while silently evaluating the situation. Up ahead seemed to be some sort of wagon that was in wrecked condition. The road was scattered with different items of food and fruits. But there was something else that the road also contained. Something that was massive in size, and beastly to behold.

Eris bit the insides of her cheek. The horned beast was preoccupied by the food provided from the spilt wagon, and the dazzling accessories that the beast possessed was feeding into her curiosity.

Did she dare to entertain this temptation?

Was this dragon-like being already aware of her presence?

On top of a boulder that had a slightly cylindrical shape, a big humanoid person was sitting. The figure, which was clearly a man, shifted uncomfortably as his powerful thews came to life. Alabaster-colored hair spilled down his back like a mane that oddly reflected the sun's weary beams.

He snorted, flashing his fangs in irritation at the intrusive lighting. His wolfish eyes peered farther than they had any right to, searching the area for signs of life. However, Konrad had long since traded his mortal sight for something greater.

"Powers above and below! Why must I be so bored? " His powerful voice cut through the eerie silence like a whip crack. There was power in it, but also gentleness. An inhuman voice, laced with alien beauty beyond human comprehension.

His countenance shifted from still to snarling. His lips curved up, exposing his gums and the rows of jagged, conical fangs that sat attached to them and were waiting to sink into the flesh of unwary passersby.

He raked ridges in the stone with his fingers, the tips of which were topped by an eagle-like claw. Konrad's superhuman strength easily defeated the rigid granite, and soon he was scooping out and then throwing away handfuls of it.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of something. To his left, about 200 meters away, was a wagon that appeared to have been abandoned. Konrad examined it more closely and concluded that it was not at all deserted, but rather lively.

Two figures were present. One, much larger, who stood amidst the slaughter, and another, much smaller, stuck beneath the large figure.

Konrad got up and descended from the large rock formation. As he did so, he noted that the stone, easily the size of a medium building, had sunk into the soft soil giving it the appearance of shrinking. Crudely engraved words, so weathered by a century of rain, sat just above the level of the ground cover plants that sprawled over the dirt.

It was a monument to a bygone era. To deny it would've made him a fool, and he was no charlatan. Although young by vampire standards, Konrad had amassed more knowledge than some of his elders could hope to gather in ten of their lifetimes.

His armored feet landed on the strip of damp soil adjoining the roadside. The impact made Konrad's legs sink ever so slightly, but he soon freed them from nature's dirty embrace, shaking off clumps of muck from the metallic exterior.

If the Vampire indeed wield much knowledge; he would understand that It was odd to see a devil of Jezebeth's level outside the green land in such a manner and plain sight, she could be an easy target for any other holy beings or those who wanted to steal her power. Yet, she was there, creating chaos and relaxing for some motivation. Perhaps there was a greater scheme or she was so confident of her abilities! Furthermore, in terms of demonology; she was visibly not as strong as a greater devil's peak, she was missing something and perhaps It could be the reason why she was there- was it worth investigating? Regardless, She continued to consume the food with ease, It was like taking small crumbs of bread, and a loud rumble emerged from her lips sounding like a mighty roar that literally bend and made the wind/terrain around her shock like a booming thunder that could perhaps bother slightly the fox-like lady's earring and slightly the one of the vampire's. Consequently, her tail pressed the merchant down into the ground far more, a faint crack of bones could be heed but he was still alive. It meant they needed to be quick.

The first thing for the fox lass; she beheld many types of food such as meats, fruits, and even sweets within the wagon as she approached it that the daemon was consuming even If she clearly did not need to eat anything due to her nature to consume spiritual energy. Plus, an odd symbol rested on the frame of the wagon; It was a symbol of two chains twisting around a crown, and anyone who bore enough knowledge of the previous city( Alliria)- may know It was the symbol; a wagon of an important family of criminals and nobles alike and the merchant underneath her tail worked for these people that schemed in the shadows; perhaps Jezebeth did more good then bad but the bloodshed, the many lives of the innocent taken to accomplish this overshadowed her real purpose to the point anyone woul perceive her as a brutal monster. At this close distance, she would also sense a great harmless heat coming off this devil as If her entire inner being hosted a puissant flame as her core but luckily enough she wasn't noticed by the devil yet.

Although, The Vampire's movements regardless of his distance weren't gone unnoticed. Jezebeth's serpentine gaze peered upon him with a rose eyebrow. She stopped eating, to scoop up a boulder nearby and literally launch it at ease with her full strength over to the vampire like a sort of projectile but for sure someone like him would be capable to dodge such a far-way strike. He could consider it a warning but knowing THE VAMPIR; he would seek the fight and continue forth. Perhaps the beginning of a great friendship or a mighty rivalry?

For while the boulder was not a great deal. It would be different for the fox one If she dared to approach the situation. The long dragon tail swung, dragging along the merchant underneath it but its approach was rather dangerous for It could slam against her without the devil having noticed where she was. If It was enough- after tossing the boulder-- she tilted her hand inward to rest it behind her and very close to the tail. Her movements clearly shock the wind as If her strength was capable to bend it and needless to say they made the earth around her quake slightly but as the hand landed upon the group. A stronger shock wave occurred that could make anyone's legs tremble a tad or push away those nearby while those underneath It would find to be in a similar situation to the merchant's but for sure the fox one would not be this stupid, she was an agile fighter after all! On the positive side, the fox one had a large trunk of an arm to use to climb up over to this demonic figure. Another chance to steal the previously stated accessories? Jezebeth was still unaware of her presence and perhaps It could also be considered a sort of insult. Nevertheless, It could be wise to let this figure know that she was there, or even running away could be a wiser choice. Let's see what Eris would do in front of this danger.

Despite his size, Konrad's body moved with feline grace. He was a panther, prowling the grassland in search of prey. Sinew and muscle rippled underneath his tunic, propelling him forward on his quest for entertainment.

The boulder came upon him in all of its laden glory. An object of that size would've squashed a mortal man like an ant, but Konrad watched it descend in slow motion. He skillfully sidestepped it, leaping aside and landing on the balls of his feet. He dashed forward without missing a beat, racing through the field of carnage.

At least two scores of foemen lay before him, their armors crumpled and distorted by great, savage force. Many of them still clutched weapons in their stiff fingers; others lay twisted beneath the bodies of foemen, snarls frozen upon their lifeless faces. The scattering of broken weapons, hacked bodies, and severed limbs told a silent tale of a savage battle. All around him unraveled a vast tapestry of death, woven from grisly human threads.

But Konrad's mind, carefully conditioned by years of unnatural practices, had grown immune to such sights. He was unperturbed by the gore, for in the span of the last decade he had killed more people than many would meet in a lifetime.
His armored sole landed on one of the dented helmets like the fist of a vengeful god. Steel offered no resistance to the crushing force of his heel, which drove through the helm's crown and into the soil below.

"Name yourself!" he yelled at the horned figure standing no more than two-dozen meters away. Konrad's irises contracted into dagger like slits before burning the horned stranger's impression into his ever-calculating mind.

A great rumble shook the very earth as the devil beastly continued to feast on the wagon wares. An expression of discomfort shown upon Eris's features as the roar troubled her ears.

This was a very bad situation. . . and it was just about to get worse.

Eris watched as the beastly took hold of a boulder and swung it into a direction. Wondering to herself as to what it was that could have tempted the monstrous form to take such actions.

And of course, her silent question was soon answered as Eris witnessed the boulder being plunged into the direction of a man. Her eyes suddenly widened, as she expected to be a witness of another disastrous death.

But no death took place.

Instead, the man stepped out of the boulder's path before dashing forward with quick, inhuman speed.

Eris wanted to witness more of what was about to take place, she wanted to understand more about what these two creatures were capable of, but she was soon interrupted by an attack that was coming her way. Unintentional or not, Eris needed to act quickly.

Eris witnessed in dismay as the devil rocked it's massive tail into a swinging motion. The poor merchant underneath was dragged along with the tail, it would be a wonder if he was still even alive. Her nails scrapped against the surface of her boulder that she was hiding behind, as Eris dashed away from it. She angled to clear away from the incoming tail, and luckily with her agile form and quick footing, Eris was able to avoid the tail's crushing weight.

But then the ground at her feet shook once more. Her heart suddenly quickened as Eris realized that this was not going to go as she anticipated. Her agile efforts that just saved her from the swinging tail soon ended as the earth knocked her unbalanced. The woman plummeted forward as she tripped from the force. She tucked her head to use the momentum of her fall, proceeding to roll with it to soften the impact even if it was only slightly.

An ache spread through her body and Eris hissed out a groan. Her fingers dug into the earth beneath her as she continued to push herself back up into a kneeling position. Watching as the tall man with ashened skin dared to approach the dragon-like beast. Commanding it to speak its name. No doubt the beast was aware of the clumsy woman now to it's right, about nine meters off.

With such speed, the Vampire soared in the wind; he left behind a trail of footprints due to his steel boots that pressed into the ground like spikes thrown with inhuman force. Though few of the crushed armors on the battlefield held not someone within themselves; Konrad's advance crushed or pushed them aside in general. He finally approached the draconic figure, who grinned wickedly at the spectacle, for she thought perhaps he was the person she sought to recruit or fight. Before doing anything else she stated her name- a loud voice sang and due to her size, It sounded abominably dark.

"I'm Jezebeth af malakath. And whom might thee be? another slaver? another wicked one who binds freedom? A worthy opponent, our battle will be LEGENDARY."

She asked out loud before raising from her sitting posture thus relieving how tall she truly was, how she towered even the mightiest of half-giants, and more, she was a devil of greater nature. The many accessories rang an ominous tune at each movement of hers, and the simple deed to stand up made the wind expand like a tide of force that darted outward like an oncoming attack. Heat began to grow around her form, and the back of her throat glowed; hellish and corrupted-looking flames flickered from the edges of her mouth, twisting their bodies of warmth around her sharp teeth, ready to hurl forward. It was clear she was ready to attack Kondrad but her flames ceased to exist as soon as she noticed a person nearby. She finally spotted the fox lass and her eyes narrowed. A hand that was far larger than the previous one named Eris loomed like a moon ready to clash against the earth; she attempted to use her longer reach to curl two fingers around her. If it was a success; Eris would be lifted far away from the ground to reach the front of Jezebeth's face. Albeit, the fox was agile, It could be difficult to escape the length of her arm but who knows- Eris was not to be underestimated, after all. If not, She may need to use her wits to get out of that situation. Also, the merchant was still alive but heavily wounded to some extent.

"Is this one of yours? were thee going to backstab me? how pathetic and dishonorable!"

If always the previous grab attempt was a success; the fox one had a plain sight of this draconic creature's countenance; the heat of a flame she emanated was overwhelming but not harmful by no means. The sight of her blood-stained razor teeth was also visible and how each breath released a faint and subtle wave of smoke from the nostrils. This creature jested naught, she was the reason of all the disappearances and the blood present was a sign of how brutal and wild she was. The serpentine Eye scanned her up and down, angered. Being this far away from the soil could also be quite overwhelming but at least the fox's presence prevented the devil to do any hostile deed toward the vampire and perhaps regret it in the process.

His brawny physique seemed to swell ever so slightly. Konrad's deltoid muscles were tied into knots, bulging against the fabric of his double-breasted trench coat. From the outside, the forearms sprouted gnarly raptorial limbs akin to those you'd encounter on a praying mantis. These alien portrusions consisted of two spiky blades conjoined by a single set of flexible joints

Retracting, the gripping limbs rested firmly against Konrad's bare forearms. The sharpness of their edges, which could rip through steel and flesh alike, was highlighted by the manner in which the sun's rays winked off of their chitinous exoskeleton.

Konrad wasn't out to fool anyone; despite the fact that he was standing still, he was aware that he could close the gap between himself and the demon in a split second.

"I am Lord Konrad Korvin, of the House of Korvin!"

He lied. He was not a lord, not anymore, at least. His father had died well over a century ago, as had the cousin to whom the title of lord was given. Konrad was the only member of the Korvin family who still remembered their ancestry. Still, he had no legal grounds upon which to address himself as a lord. No, not even that. Even in life, he was, at best, a minor figure, a local lordling. His father's meager estate never warranted a higher title.

The demonic figure threw him a sudden inquiry. Konrad's wolfish eyes shifted from the demon, coming to rest upon the much comelier countenance of a young woman. He had not noticed her earlier, having been preoccupied with the stench of slaughter and the sprawling visage of mass murder that unfurled all around him.

"Insult me not with such brazen insinuations, demon, lest I pluck your still beating heart from your breast and spit it on the point of my blade."

He spat on the rapidly dampening soil. Gallons of blood had seeped into the soft dirt, further loosening it and ultimately transforming it into mud. The metallic, bittersweet taste of coagulated blood assailed his nostrils. By gods, he was hungry! But this stale, half-spoiled blood wouldn't do it for him. He needed something fresher.

He needed to kill, to sink his fangs and claws into soft flesh, to rip and shred the limbs of anything living, to crack bones and suck the marrow from their jagged ends.

A booming voice sent tremors through the earth as the devil beast presented itself ferociously to the tall, strange man, before it stood to reveal just how massive it was. Eris could feel what little courage she had left easily slipping away, as she cowered beneath the growing shadow of the beast.

As heat and wicked flames licked from the very maw of the devil, it seemed as if for a second it would lunge at the man. But Eris was wrong. The beast paused and redirected itself to the very woman amongst the ground.

What a dreadful day this was becoming. . .

She tried to shrink back from the oncoming hand that reached for her, but soon felt the clawed fingers of the devil wrapping around her small form. The devil allowed her to have a full view of the monstrous situation she was in. Her golden eyes now beheld the full fury of the devil beast.

No longer was Eris worried about the beautiful gems and accessories that ornamented the devil. Instead, she was more worried about being in the same position as the merchant, or worse. Eris clenched her teeth as she struggled against the hand that restrained her. Flashing her carved canines at the devil as nothing seemed to give.

She couldn't help but feel slightly insulted by the exchange between the two.

"I know not what you speak! Demon who goes as Jezebeth. For I lack any weapon or intent to do much harm."

Eris could feel the growing anger of the beast that held her. And from afar there was an intensifying increase of bloodlust from behind her. No doubt radiating from the very being of that strange, ashen man. She needed to think of something quick in an attempt to save her from this bloodbath that was so eager to waken.

"I beg of thee! Mighty dragon being that holds me bound. I am too small to be much appetizing. I hold a promise that I can be more useful than just a snack." Her voice shook in angst, but Eris did much to will herself of anything to aid her survival. Entangling her pleas with the work of her magical charm.

Jezebeth Af Malakath | Konrad

"I careth not about what thee sayeth but. I seeth the bloodlust in thy eyes. Englut the merchant; that man is who binds us all in imprisonment. That one supports those who corrupt the city thee all loveth."

The offering was given. She was totally reading the vampire, caring not about this boost of a title. She felt his anger, his lust for blood. Something that could be quite useful; she straightened her posture and spread her shoulders to look decisive in what she was uttering. Thence, she moved slightly her imposing hoof to shove the wounded merchant towards the vampire. Likewise, the vampire could understand where this merchant came from and who he worked for. His blood was still fresh and ready to be consumed to some extent. He was harmless, pleading the vampire to spare him for he had a family and home. It truly was a moment of utmost decision to see If the vampire was ready to slay someone and lose his humanity even more. Nevertheless, after offering a choice to the vampire; she focused on those grasped between her fingers.

Her jaw dropped as Eris was dragged closer and closer but not towards the edge just enough to scare her on purpose; she could feel the fingers losing strength on the grip; when she was a few inches away from that forest of razor teeth that were always ready to tear apart their victims. Eris was held there for a while always hosted up by the two fingers, she could only see the obscured hell in front of her before she was pulled out. Jezeth was slightly convinced mostly for the charmful magic. The grip in her shifted position to hold most part of the fox one into her fist and for the record, Eris could still see and talk. The movements of her lower body were simply impossible to move due to PERHAPS being within the fist's grip but at least, she survived and could move her arms etc...

"Thy words do lie. I'm not a jailor, I'm nay slaver. I'm only strong to the point I wast capable to conquer mine own freedom. Wherefore shouldst I trusteth thee? I'm in needeth after all of the sneaky individuals but what promises me thee won't betray me? I also don't know the city quite well."

The dragonic being's voice grew softer, she was fully focused on the aforementioned fox. It was clear that her words were slowly convincing her. Or perhaps, It was what she wanted to see. She was testing and scaring on purpose Eris Wisteria to be sure she was not weak, she would never hurt an innocent or act like a vampire and consume blood. She was no giant barbarian, she had a calculative mind. Withal, her voice in that distance was strong and ponderous- It was like talking to someone while a strong wave of wind rushed over to one's features. Also, The grip of her fist curled around her like a strength to the point with each minute It would grow in strength. Time was growing thin.

Eris couldn't help but clench her eyes shut as the devil brought her towards the entrance of its open maw. She couldn't bear to witness the wicked rows of golden teeth that threatened to make ribbons out of her. Dreadful moments slowly slinked by as Eris held her breath, waiting for the crushing force of the dragon's jaws to snatch her from life itself.

But death had not come, well at least not just yet.

The devil withdrew her a bit as if considering her words. Balancing Eris's possibility of usefulness on a small, shaking scale of life or death.

"Wherefore must thee worry? Thee but just a lite Lass, but a lite Lass who can sneak. Thee hast no weapon to hurt, to betray. Forthy little to lose," as Eris did her best to convince the devil, the grip around her small form began to tighten. How long did she have, before she was squashed between this devil's two fingers?!

"By my troth! Thee'm not an ordinary human, but still harmless to Jezebeth! Pray thee!" Eris pushed on with her charm as her voice trembled with despair. She cared little for what it was that the devil needed. She was certain that the task can be accomplished, especially if it meant buying her life!

Jezebeth Af Malakath | Konrad

The small fox was being convincing; the fact she was ready to do anything in order to save her life delighted this wicked demon. It was something she admired even If she looked pathetic due to the pleadings. The squeezing would stop and her own large face overloomed Eris; It moved forward- was she going to end Eris Wisteria's life regardless of what was said; another deed was offered. Her dark lips pressed upon her small head/forehead like a sort of blessing; an action that a priest would do to bless someone. Pointing out the god complexity the devil had

"Thee shall be spared but a fair warning. If thee shall betray me."

What could this warning be? Her crawled fingers opened wide to let the smaller one rest atop her palm calmly, It was a moment of peace but unless she moved quickly outside the and, which she could. The fingers curled back inward to close her into that fist. It was like being in a cage that squeezed one's form until It would explode. She held there for a while as a warning before her hand lowered down to toss harshly the fox. She succeeded with her charm to survive but at what cost? Nevertheless, the devil took a step forward with her hooves to approach the vampire and check what he would do with the merchant, and with her lumbering; and before she could do it she attempted to release a gust of wind with her breath to be sure Eris would be slightly pushed away not to get hit by her hooves. An odd way to help

"The city is the least of my concerns, demon. Whether its denizens live or die has little effect on me. However, the merchant..."

He looked at the sniveling bag of bones trapped underneath several hundred kilograms of hardwood. Konrad's hungry eyes bore down on the man, glittering with predatory cunning like a pair of polished emeralds. He could feel the merchant's heart beating in his breast, pumping liters of blood through the circulatory system. A red tide surged through the man's veins, ready to slake Konrad's sanguine thirst.

Konrad vaulted towards the merchant, sliding his arms underneath the wagon wreckage. Knotted muscles rippled in his upper body as he heaved what remained of the broken wagon off the the trapped merchant.

His clawed hand seized the merchant by the scruff of his neck before hauling him off the ground with superhuman strength. The merchant lay suspended in mid air, trying his best to resist Konrad. At first he tripped, aiming feeble kicks at the vampire. Then he grabbed Konrad's forearm in an attempt to twist it, but Konrad didn't so much as budge.

Konrad's grip was iron, and his skeletal, sinewy digits squeezed the merchant's throat like a vice, making his beady eyes bulge to twice their original size.

"He will suffice," exclaimed Konrad as his jaw unhinged in snakelike fashion. His mouth opened beyond what his humanoid constitution should've allowed. His throat swell, and out of his gaping maw slipped a long, tubular appendage as thick as a child's forearm.

At first glance, an untrained observer could've mistaken the grotesque growth for a tongue, yet it was no tongue that now hoovered in front of the merchant's face but a proboscis. The very tip of it suddenly unfurled, flattening into a sucking disk full of sharp, inward-facing, horn-shaped teeth.

Erid did well to heed Jezebeth's warning. Waiting as she was lowered back to the ground and released, but only for a second before the devil's claws formed a tight cage over the fox girl's small figure. To show how easily it would be for Eris to be back within her gasp if she was to betray Jezebeth.

When Eris was lowered back down and released for the second time, the devil tossed her out to the bloodied ground below. Eris stumbled forward, doing her best not to fall or lose her balance. But that was a shortcoming.

A gust of wind sent Eris toppling forward, yet stirred her clear of the massive hooves that thundered down onto the earth as the devil moved forward towards the strange man.

Eris was left in horrific witness as the vampire made his advance onto the wagon merchant. Recalling the devil's words on what was told about the merchant. Perhaps her skin grew a little pale at the sight of the vampire feasting. But Eris lacked any sign of pity for the wagon dealer.

Now what was left was to sit and watch amongst the dirt as the devil and vampire battled or compromised

Jezebeth Af Malakath | Konrad

The hooves indeed made the earthquake, If any more than usual due to her truculent advance but once she was in front of the vampire, her long tail would stretch out to harshly(an attempt) push up Eris with a swinging motion and be sure she would be ready to listen. Thence, Her entire form would be enveloped in a thick wave of flames that was slowly getting smaller and smaller to point out how the form of Jezebeth was changing thus in that tide of flames; a petite and small woman emerged with bright amber-colored eyes in an outfit far different from her Daemonic form. It was the human disguise of Jezebeth af Malakath but she was always missing an arm and was indeed way smaller, even slightly smaller than the fox lass, just an average lass. Her footsteps always echoed a loud THUD; perhaps her disguise was not this perfect. She gazed between the duo, her lips smiling as a hand rested under her chin. A softer voice echoed out for she was preparing her speech for the oncoming offering.

"Thee two are quite interesting. I have an offering; I'm Jezebeth. A Devil. I seeketh to destroyeth all that corrupts freedom and free mortal kind from the balanceth; there has been a group of people in thy city who hast been problematic to sayeth the least and that hast taken something from me."

She explained, pointing a finger at the merchant with a wave of anger ever growing across her frail features. A boot rose to slam it onto the soil which caused it to crack slightly under her weight before she rested her only hand behind her back. She continued on. It was clear that perhaps making a deal with this devil could be a bad idea for they were known to trick people into such things but It perhaps could even be useful for the duo. The Path was clear and before telling them more; she wanted to see what their response would be.

"They are slavers and tyrants; aid me and I shall regard thee well. I'll be sure thee shall have a lodging of power in mine own future. I can maketh thy house far stronger , Lord Konrad. If that will convince you."

A terrible, wet sound that reverberated around the battlefield was produced as the man's throat was torn open by the tubular proboscis, which had hooked onto it. Blood shot out of the wound, tracing a brilliant arc across the fly-infested atmosphere before being magnified ten times by the dry patch of grass. Like a calf being weaned, Konrad's appendage sucked at the lifeblood, sending swallow after gulp down his bloated throat. The flavor was passable. It was the best he could hope for from a seasoned old man. Additionally, the merchant didn't appear to be in great health. The man's emaciated limbs and sunken eyes were telltale signs of a stressful and anxious life.

Although Konrad's prey resisted, it was in vain. The merchant's writhing limbs soon fell by his sides, limply. His eyes glazed over, dried up, and quickly sank into the darknened sockets. Before the merchant died, a low, gutteral sigh erupted from the pit of his stomach.

Konrad let go of the dehydrated body, watching it collapse into a heap of spasming limbs. The merchant still had some fight in him, it seemed, or was it merely the onset of rigor mortis that caught Konrad's gleaming eyes?

"He's done for," Konrad commented as the proboscis retreated into the back of his throat. He cast a glance at the new girl, grinning in response to her discomfort. This one feared death!

"I'm no champion of liberty. I live by a simple rule; that might makes right. If these halfwits cannot free themselves, then why should I expand any effort to save them? "

"Furthermore, how shall I benefit from their liberation? Surely you do not mistake me for a good Samaritan? "

Jezebeth Af Malakath

The red-haired lass was pushed to her feet by the great tail of the red devil. To where she stood and witnessed as the devil shrunk to a much smaller size. Jezebeth soon was just a woman who stood before them, but Eris knew not to be fooled by the human disguise. Still, the aura of magic was all around the woman's figure. She was still powerful.

The devil named Jezebeth exercised her compromise as the vampire finished gorging on his prize.

"If I shall join thee, will thee make aware that vampire don't gorge on me next?" Eris questioned Jezebeth as she watched his eyes turn towards her. His grin made it obvious that he enjoyed her display of fear.

It wouldn't take much to convince the fox to aid on such quests. But first she must be ensured of her safety.

Eris waited for an answer as her hands pushed down on the fabrics of her attire. Her walk had greatly evolved into something else.
