Fable - Ask Invitation Not Included

A roleplay which may be open to join but you must ask the creator first
"I chased a name for myself in my younger days," he said. "Not the same thing. I never went after power over others. I just wanted a little fame and respect. And lots of gold."

He drew her a little tighter into his side. He had lost track of local customs. There were places where the slightest sign of physical affection was scandalous and other human cities that were far more libertarian. He didn't care.

"It's not the same. The fame and the gold were both welcome but then I have every stupid second son of a noble with a few fencing lessons trying to make a name."

They had seen the same sides of different coins, he thought to himself.

"Shall we free our host of a few more drinks and then make an early exit?"

"It's funny, but I cannot even remember why I sought a throne. Damned uncomfortable things, those." She laughed at her own joke lightly, even if there was a thread of pain riding beneath it. She couldn't remember exactly why, but protection of those she cared about had been one of them.

Turned out really well in the end, hadn't it?

She soaked in the solidity of the elder elf, eyes turning towards him gleaming with their own peculiar inner light. "A few more," she agreed. "Then I can release their attention and they can scratch their heads as to who it was that invaded their home. Or wonder if we were even real."

Fae things. Playing with mortal minds wasn't exactly something she relished... all the time, anyway.

"Did you have a destination in mind?"

He smiled from one corner of his mouth. Draedamyr glanced over at Seska, still unaccustomed to keeping his gaze to level.

He turned back to the painting he was admiring. There was nothing rude or uncomfortable in the silence. It was simply time taken over a decision.

"I think that after our little jokes and self reflection that I would simply enjoy you for a time."

He finished his glass, swapping it for a full one as someone passed with a tray.

"So unless you had anywhere in mind, I think we can head straight back to our lodgings."

"Enjoy me?" She fluttered her lashes and hooded her eyes. There was always a level of playfulness between them. Wild, when considering it was born of the most serious of situations imaginable. "Why, is this not the kind of enjoyment you seek?"

She wafted a glass of ruby liquid into her hand and took a delicate sip. The dance of words was all part of game, after all.

"Anywhere you are is fine, though a bower out in the woods would suit me better. Sweep me from my feet and surprise me," she said with a light little laugh.

He lips drew into a thin smile in response to her look. Something more innapropriate threatened to break out, but such a wizened elf would never let his control break.

"It was a fantastic surprise and is exactly the kind of event I enjoy," he replied.

"And for that I am very grateful. But my interests can change. Are you suggesting that I am in responsible and in control of the rest of our entertainment? Were we somewhere else I might take that suggestion literally and take a firm grip of the situation."

Draedamyr then had to hide his smile behind a glass of wine, but he didn't break eye contact.

"It is a fine day for a ride," she said, a touch breathless. She covered by draining her own glass of wine, tongue delicately licking the last crimson drops away.

"Just remember, I am a delicate flower." She batted her eyes at him coquettishly, a certain light burning within their depths. "You can't be too firm with that handling. Can't be too gentle, either, otherwise nothing gets done."

Even thinking such thoughts was scandalous. She was, however, an old lady - as those things were figured - and so there were very few things that could make her blush. Very few words, anyway.
