Edward "Lucky" Lorain
Edward "Lucky" Lorain, the man loved by the sea. A skilled sailor with a desire for more in life. Edward styles himself a gentleman rogue and is a self-proclaimed romantic. However, Edward's ambitions know no bounds. He has done what he has needed in do order to survive his tough life, and he has no signs of stopping. He has just recently managed to get his hands on an old, beat-up ship lovingly called The Shag, and now is the time for taking chances.
Be careful. The only thing faster than Edward's tongue is his fingers and they have a funny habit of sticking to things that are not his.
Appearance
Edward Lorain is a young man with a lean and nimble build. His brown shaggy hair is usually kept back with a hairband, or under control with a long-brimmed hat, in the musketeer style. Dark sea-green eyes analyze the area around him with a laissez-faire demeanor. A confident smirk constantly sits on the background of his sun-kissed tan skin.
Edward wears a pair of old, dirty brown sailing pants with a white blouse that hangs on his chest. The only real clothing he has ever spent money on is a sturdy pair of black boots. To round out his clothing, he has a run-down brown frock coat that he took off a body in a side alley in Teth. The unfortunate soul must have not been watching their back. Finally, a saber hangs at his waist.

Skills and Abilities
Silver Tongue: Complimented by his quick wit, Edward has a way with words. Whether it be used for scamming others out of their money, charming the right individual, or convincing someone not to stab him. The worst thing you can do is let Edward keep talking.
Sailor: Like anyone else raised in the city of Teth, Edward is a skilled sailor. However, ever beyond the average throng of those on Teth, Edward is considered to be one of the best sailors in the entire city. A combination of genuine skill and luck, but no one denies that having him on your vessel is a good sign.
Fighting Dirty: Edward is an average swordsman able to hold his own against any normal soldier, but he is at his best when stabbing others in the back, throwing sand in their eyes, or just running away for another day.
Lucky: Edward wouldn't get the nickname otherwise, but certain things just seem to work out for Edward. Sometimes it is a rope that is just within reach, the wind just perfectly helping his ship, or the rain holds off long enough for his ship to make it back to port. Some have even gone so far as to claim that he was practicing some sort of luck magic.
Squall Caller: Edward does practice a type of magic, which he keeps as a very close-knit secret. A rare form of nature magic developed by the people of Teth in the very beginning. The magic has become nearly lost since then, but there are still a select few that practice. The magic specializes in the manipulation of the winds, the ocean, and storms in general. The magic is not as formalized as most and is far more dependent on the talent and the nature of the individual, making the magic difficult to pass on to others.

Personality
Easygoing: Edward goes out of his way to make sure he always appears relaxed and confident about the situation he is in. His reasoning is partly the whole, "Fake it until you make it" mindset. If he starts panicking on the outside, then he will likely follow on the inside.
Flirtatious: He really can't help himself. He flirts with nearly every woman he comes across. It may be for gain, for fun, or just for the challenge.
Clever: Edward can also seem like he is being blown along in life, but don't be confused. Beneath that charming smile, Edward always has some sort of plan...He never claimed it was a good plan.
Survivor: He prefers to call it ambition, but at the end of the day, Edward will always do what he needs to for survival. He just needs one more day, a little bit more time to figure something else out. As long as he has a chance then he can pull it off.
