Zola never knew the boons of being born into an affluent family for her powers developed from an incredibly rare young age. As such she was raised almost from the cradle in the Anirian Academy system. As an initiate Zola was an exemplary Dreadlord; loyal, unquestioning and strong. She was courted by several of the Major Houses including both Virak, Luana and Urahil though she declined them all. Despite never knowing her own origins, Zola found herself naturally drawn to the vast freedom of the oceans and instead pledged herself to House Weiroon, known for their strong ties to Aniria's navy.

Zo's skills in sound manipulation made her ship The Antagonist, a fearsome naval strength that won its Captain several noted and famed victories against the Cortosi fleet, pirates and - more recently - Empire expeditions.

When the revolution broke out in Vel Lumen, where Zola and her crew were docked, the city was thrown into confusion. Most believed what was taking place was a mutiny and Zo was one of the deadliest Dreadlords to throw their weight behind the old ways, thinking she was remaining loyal to her country and everything she had known. Whilst the actual records of what occurred at Vel Lumen are now sealed, it is rumoured Zola killed not only her ships Captain, Bosun and Chief Engineer, but several of the Dreadlords under her own command. It took an Archon and the Admiral intervening in the bloodshed to finally convince Zola this was more than some common mutiny.

For months, Zola's fate was debated amongst the Naval Commanders. Many believed her to have been acting with loyalty, albeit misinformed, and were loathe to execute such a highly decorated Dreadlord. Instead they decided to demote her, decommission The Antagonist, and to send her to a backwater naval base until the New Republic was more settled.

The Power of Sound: From taking away the noises of an entire army, to being able to crank her own voice up to a volume that can shatter stone, Zola's main gift is the ability to manipulate the frequency and intensity of different sounds. Usually this is her own voice, however it can also be the sounds of instruments and natural occurrences like thunder. This includes being able to distort, speed up and slow down sounds which can be disorientating and deadly.

Mimicry: Zola has the ability to 'store' different sounds and play them back in a different scenario perfectly. These copies only last for a month in her mind before she needs to listen to the noise again in order to refresh the noise. In her youth these were limited to simple noises like the sound of horses hooves, but as she grew in strength and levels, Zola was also able to copy the exact sound of another persons voice.

Echolocation: Zola is able to dial the soundwaves she can manipulate up to the point she is even able to sense or feel objects in rooms or underwater.
