Born in the Anirian city of Vel Cirak, Luthen was once one of the most Acclaimed Dreadlords in all of Vel Anir.

Taken from his family at the age of eight when his magics were discovered, Luthen had already long embraced what it meant to be Anirian. Hailing from a city that during his childhood was under near constant attack by werewolves, the young boy was taught early on that working together, defending the weak, and the Guard were the only way of life worth living.

When he joined the Academy, this attitude did not change. Even with the brutality of his training, Luthen never lost faith in the ways of Vel Anir. Though many thought him a fool, the Initiate truly believed that their treatment was not only for their own betterment, but to keep Vel Anir safe.

Along with the strengths of his magics, this trait lead Luthen to excel at the Academy. He quickly rose to the top of his class, and at the age of eighteen graduated as a Second Level. A feat which not many could claim, but was not something he would ever brag about. Swearing to House Virak on the condition he could serve with the Guard.

Over the next decade Luthen would prove himself time and time again.

Mission after mission, command after command, the now Dreadlord excelled within his work. Showing himself not just to be a powerful Sorcerer, but an effective leader and tactician. Through his years Luthen even managed to earn the respect of many Guardsmen. A feat that not many of his peers could claim in that age.

Luthen quickly found himself promoted to the First, and during his career was sheperded again and again by House Virak. By the time he reached the age of thirty eight, Luthen was on the cusp of being granted the title of Archon.

It was this respect which earned Luthen his place as leader of the mission which would see him captured. Though the events are still under strict-seal by the Anirian Government, the assignment which saw Luthen lossed sent him deep into Cortos. Entering lands controlled by the Radiant Church with a squad of four other Dreadlords, only one of which managed to return.

With details scant, it was quickly assumed that those who did not come back were simply killed in the pursuit of their mission.

The truth however, is far darker.

Though their mission was succesful, it was not without consequence, and as they fled Luthen found himself struck down by an extremely well prepared member of the Solar Choire. Captured and Imprisoned, the Dreadlord was tortured for the next several months. The Radiant Church doing it's best to break Luthen's will, but never quite managing to suceed.

For the next nearly fifteen years, Luthen was kept in the dark. Ocassionally pulled out of his dungeon to be questioned, the Dreadlord was an extremely well kept secret within the ranks of the Church. The Radiant's knowing Vel Anir would not react kindly to one of their own being imprisoned, particularly one so respected.

A fact which was quickly proven true when only two months ago a defector from the Solar choire made it to Anirian lands, and there divulged knowledge of a prisoner deep within the dungeons of Cortos. A Dreadlord, kept chained and gagged so that he could not speak a word.

Skills and Abilities

Dubbed the Voiceless General, Luthen's magic comes in two forms. The first and most prominent is an aura which seems to exude from him at an almost constant. A sense of cheer, comradery, and optimism seems to settle into nearly every person who stands close enough to the Dreadlord. This aura of exuberance and confidence settles into those who fight at Luthen's side, bestowed by his will, and those who embrace it are capable of accepting further gifts.

When the Dreadlord exudes himself, actively utilizing his magic instead of passively, those who surround him and accept his magic are capable of performing feats which might otherwise be called impossible. Whether this be physically, magically, or even spiritually does not matter. The effects differ depending on the person and their own will, the enhancements in combat often honing in on the person's own most prominent talent.

Though utilizing his magic in this way, particular with more people around him, is incredibly taxing.

This magic on it's own is incredibly powerful, yet it was the addition of his voice which made Luthen truly dangerous. At the age of eight years old, in a panic, the then young Luthen shouted at his sister to stop as she was about to touch a still hot stove top. To his surprise, his sibling came to a complete stillness, stopping entirely.

It was this which lead his parents to alert the local Proctors in Vel Cirak, and Luthen was quickly swept away. The magic of his voice discovered to be that of Command.

Luthen's words, simply put, mean more than most. When he speaks, the magic coursing within him compels those around him to act exactly as they are told. Though this can be resisted, doing so is incredibly painful and disorienting. Causing migraines, nausea, and blurryness of vision, and sometimes even aneurysm.

Though many might think this is a gift, the Voice is in fact a curse in it of itself. Luthen is incapable of turning this ability 'off' and a simple statement such as 'Good Day' might suddenly compel someone to permanently seek out what they consider to be a "Good Day".

The crux of his magic is unfortunately in it's uncontrollable nature. His commands must be followed, even when he is not giving an actual command. Thus, when Luthen does speak, he has to be incredibly precise and careful with just what he actually says. More than once in his youth, a simple desire to hear his own voice has lead to death, and over the Decades the Dreadlord has learned the weight of that fact.

Because of this powerful magic, Luthen chooses not to speak, and is for all intents and purposes mute.
