"I'm always asked, 'What's the secret to success?' But there are no secrets. Be humble. Be hungry. And always be the hardest worker in the room."

Karl “The Stalwart Shield” von Stehlen
Skills and Abilities
Knight of the Feather Duster - Most knights have over learned over time as a page and squire the skills of how to maintain a home, but Karl had to learn all of this on his own; his mentor was a bit...spontaneous, and often times during the time Karl was a page, he would be the sole “servant” in his mentor’s estate. This meant he had to essentially learn how to be a one man housekeeper in his youth, learning how to cook, clean, sew, and just take care of himself and others in general. While it seemed like a monster of a task for a child, Karl now finds the task he now finds rather therapeutic in-between the excitement of battle. It also helps maintain the family estate, as most(if not all) of the housekeeping is left to the young knight, thus it’s not out of the ordinary to see this bizarness that is him in full plate armor wearing a white apron, sometimes outside beating the blankets...
Equipment
Iron Cross Shield - A shield with the Iron Cross crest upon it, said to be a ward used to protect against both ranged and magic attacks...but it also contains a nefty trick forged into the cross. Every physical impact dealt upon the shield allows it to store it as a kinetic energy that can be then either unleashed as a pulse or used to project a larger force-field like shield. There's a limit on how much energy can be contained, and the shield needs to be emptied of this energy in it's passive state as to not cause a accidental misfire.
Plate Armor of the Stahlspitze - A full plate armor, one that Karl seems to wear the armor constantly. The armor, the is reinforced to be capable of withstanding some of the mightiest blows from either up close or from afar. The armor also has magical runes built in, giving the wearer a degree of magic resistance that almost nullifies incoming magic attacks. These runes, have their own secrets, ones that well be revealed with time...
General Armory - In effect, everything from lances to greatswords, Karl can pick up these weapons on the fly and utilize them as the situation demands.
Daisy - His trusty and reliable steed, a mount that has been with him since his days as a squire. Daisy often wears plate armor, although in less dangerous settings will do without the armor, allowing the mount to move a little faster as a result. Daisy will often come running at the sound of Karl's whistling, even if she is elsewhere.
Big Book??? - A big, nondescript book. Within the book are many pages, many of which have seemingly been torn or otherwise damaged...however, on nearly every page, it seems like someone had scribbled various notes and attached them to the page...with an occasional sketch or two...of what looks to be...food?
Personality
That is perhaps Karl's greatest strength, it is the fact that he is always there, like the reliable light of a lighthouse in the storm of life. Whether this be a dangerous mission that needs a fighter by your side, or just someone there to listen to your troubles, Karl is always willing and able, despite his rather quiet and indifferent attitude. This applies doubly so for friends and family, but the young man isn't above putting his neck out for complete strangers, as he's known of diving back into the fray to pull out simple grunts. Indeed such noble attitudes have led him to many great feats, but it is a wonder if he revels in his glory, as it is difficult to tell by his face.
Indeed, one can easily forget how old Karl is by his appearance; he's only a young adult with so much experience of the world outside of the realm. Karl has his own dreams in life, however he keeps to himself most of the time about it, weather it be because he's naturally silent or because he's more concerned with his siblings burdens. Service to kin and the realm, something that automatically overrides his inner dreams...but still...a part of him often wonders what life would be otherwise...
Biography & Lore
`Karl is one of the younger members of the Von Stehlen family, born into this world at first of no great significance or ceremony. Life at first was rather ordinary, well, as ordinary as things can be...orphaned and such...but he had his siblings, some of whom were too busy with filling the gap they’re parents have left, leaving him to the adventure of the others. However, when Karl came to a certain age, he was sent to be a page for the Knightly Order of the Iron Cross...an order prestigious through his lands...
Of course, this wasn't without it’s difficulties, although in Karl’s case this extended beyond just the hardships of combat or physical training...this was something that would form the foundation of his mentor fortitude...
Karl’s mentor was a bit of a...mess, to say the least...which equated to Karl spending a lot of time trying to pull his mentor out of the gutters; sometimes in the most literal sense. Truth be told, this did more to shape him into a capable butler than some sort of rising warrior, but Karl persist...and took the initiative to spend that extra time learning from the Order’s training manual. This meant that by the time Karl reached the age of to become a squire, he was proficient enough...but rather stiff in his techniques. Luckily, general training seemed to have smooth things out...while his own mentor, after a lot of times spent of Karl pouring water over his head, seem to start getting his life back together. Surprisingly enough, Karl did start to learn how to be enough, soon rising above the capacity of some of his fellow squires…soon enough, participating with the rest in combat, reaching a point of distinction...becoming one of the youngest squires to be knighted, at the age of 17. Yet were that enough, only three years past until his next biggest distinction that earned him the title of “Stahlspitze”; it was during a skirmish within the thick Schleifer Woods against a wandering warband of slavers, which began poorly.
The woods were quite thick, preventing the contingent from taking up formation against the enemy. To make matters worse, one of the leading Stahlspitze wounded and the batter standards fallen to the enemy, it was Karl who took charge; first, he retrieved the fallen banner from the enemy, before rallying the rest of the knights to him. It was after the knights had rally, did Karl lead a counter charge against the merrid of raiders, driving them into the crossfire a set of Schleifer Wood, ultimately ending in these slavers hunted down to the last man. However, what truly distinguished this feat was far beyond simply taking charge; it was his actions of riding back into the enemy, throwing himself off his mount and upon a slaver trying to capture the wounded Stahlspitze, before dragging the knight to safety, remounting to retrieve the battle standard. Such courage won him the title of the” Stahlspitze”: The Steel Point.

Relationship
Order of the Iron Cross:
- Heer Siegward Kamphaus - Karl’s mentor. It is once said that before Karl came along, Siegward(despite his prowess in battle) was very close in getting ejected from the Order on grounds of recklessness and over doing things on the liquid courage. Even when Karl came along, he was still a bit of a mess...he had lost his wife not too long before...yet as Karl possessed in his life, Siegward got his life back together; taking upon his duty as a knight and as a mentor, training one of the strongest knights in the order’s history.
