Skills and Abilities

Cunning Statesmen- A man who understands policies and politics in running a nation, as well as political maneuverings that are needed in order to achieve the betterment for the state and to uphold the values of the people.
Leader of Reform- A man of this generation that is leading the secular charge in innovation of science and civil service. It is under Otto, many more civil reforms have been passed within the territories, promoting the well being for those whom reside their and enriching the state as a whole. Otto even promotes the cooperation between science and magic. Otto has introduced a through bookkeeping system, keeping records of everything from tax and criminal records to even a census of the grander state. This also means that if something’s out of place, Otto’s keen eye will catch it, and can easily access pre-existing records to compare as a result. This has caught many of people either trying to commit fraud or even trying to smuggle items within the territory.
Innovative Administrator- As an administrator to his Noble Household, it is his job to sort out minor issues of the state that does not warrant the direct attention of it’s head, whether it is going out into the field for inspection or filling out mountains of paperwork. Most people would be terrified at the amount of paperwork needed to help run a state on a daily basis, but not Otto. Though he is by no means in love with the paperwork, Otto possess the will and tenacity to tackle paperwork no matter how high they may be stacked. On the flip side, the strengths of being with paperwork so much is that you have almost full control of it. This means that Otto is rather capable of an attorney, but more interestingly, this also means that Otto can literally bury someone in bureaucracy and paperwork in the right setting, as although he cannot size their people necessarily without probable cause, he can certainly size their goods for various “additional inspections”, locking the goods under the state’s control until further notice .
Diligent Secretary- It is Karl’s job to present the household with tools to aid the state, as to not waste the head’s time with smaller issues. Instead, Otto presents the head of the household with only major or pressing issues, along with potential options to solve this problem. It is also his job to pass on any orders or edicts from the head of the household to the lower offices.
Counter-Espionage- To safeguard a realm takes more then just the blade, it is to defend your strategical important assets from threats off the battlefield.
Noble Fighter- Skilled with using a one handed sword, perry and attacking with such a natural rhythm. Furthermore, it would appear that Otto has quite some proficiency with the crossbow, being rather skilled in putting his shot where it counts. That said, it seems that Otto’s fighting process seems to extend the usage of a one handed sword.

Weakness

Not Meant to be For the Frontlines- Though Otto can defend himself, it is rather clear that he should not be exposed to heavy amounts of frontline fighting, as he will not last with his set up.
Not Meant to Counter Magic- Magic doesn’t seem to hold any weight with Otto, thus he has no real counter against any magic users, other than get out of the way.

Equipment

Paperwork + Quill- The pen is mightier than the sword, as anyone who has mastered the monstrosity that is the most mundane of paperwork will attest to you.
Noblemen's Rapier- A double edged saber with a hilt to protect the arm. Quite a quick weapon, good for parrying and quick thrusts, but also useful for slashing.
Crossbow Pistol- A smaller version of a normal crossbow that is more than capable of being wielded in one hand. While the weapon lacks the range of it'ss heavier cousins, it makes up for it by being quite a concealable weapon, perfect for a spontaneous attack or defense.
Dueling Dagger- Used on the off hand, but is much faster to use than the sword, but it's meant to supplement the sword. Good at slashing, but deadly at stabbing, good for getting into the weak spots of armor. Also good for parrying attacks.

Personality

The best way to describe Otto is unamused. Granted he can acknowledge a good joke, but that’s the thing, he really just acknowledge a good joke. Most of the time he would just snort at it or scoff, in fact, most people have not seen Otto ever laugh or smile, at least, not any more... But even so, that doesn't make him anti-social.

Fact is, he seems to be out of the family estate at least once a day, and instead being everywhere and anywhere within the territories. Otto's job requires him to deal with many people on a daily basis, such as reviewing the maintenance plans for the roads or approving of a new grant for the engineering program or making sure that the state’s taxes are properly filed and signed for. It seems that any logistical, administration, or bureaucratic affair that the family has is always being dealt or overseen by Otto himself. Ontop of all that, there are many times where he has been known to lead small raids or skirmishers, even taking to battle with his siblings, although often taking a support role as the strategist. This makes him a rather known name within the lands, as he is in the field as much as he is in the office, and there is a capacity of trust that most of the locals have in him. Others, whom are less aquantited about the man, may think of him otherwise.

But that’s Otto for you, as he is rather inquisitive in the way he goes about people, always observing and keeping an ear out for anything and everything, all the while he seems like he’s not paying attention at all. This makes most people think that Karl is a cold and rather unemotional fella, but Karl does all of this to keep things professional. Deep down he cares for the well being of many people, especially his siblings, but he’ll rarely show it. You can really see this in his actions, as he’s always working hard so that his siblings can have some breathing room, stepping up to responsibility rather than shrinking away while also setting aside time especially for them. Above all, he almost always personally comes to the rescue of his siblings, weather finally paperwork to get them out of the dog house or leading a raid to rescue his siblings from trouble. Otto loves his family, even if his face hardly shows it.

Biography & Lore

Otto does often talks about his past, as most people would assumed to be a “normal” experience, normal as in receiving an education and focusing on that. The time that Otto really became a figure of interest within the Strojland was when both his parents died, while most of his current siblings had just been born. Many remember this as a time where Otto really came into his own, as while the outside world saw the head of the household, everyone whom were of Strojland blood knew of Otto’s work. It was Otto that was by the side of the household, and it was Otto whom was in the offices, the courts, everywhere and anywhere they’re was a conflict or issue, Otto was there ready to tackle it with a unamused expression. That was how he got his nickname of “The Grim”, as he has been said to have never smiled once in his entire life. Still, despite this appearance, many remember him more fondly for his deeds; such as reformation of the taxes and land codes, reorganizing the standing army and it’s logistical network, pushing for further improvements to road conditions and safety to boost commerce, pushing for a universal level of education and implementing a specialists examination, the list goes on. On the flip side, Otto is also known for pursuing(or overseeing) the eradication of several attempts at establishing a syndicate through Strojland, usually following gaps in the records to its source, than with warrant in hand, kicking down doors with a band of armed men...ready to arrest all those involved, and usually successfully convicting them. Yes, many remember the feats that Otto has undertake for his noble house and his people...yet even so, nobody really knows the Otto that’s under the flurry of paperwork and the mundane of bureaucratic work...not even some of his family knows what thoughts lurk under that rather grim expression.
