Description

"As we hoped, the Book of Wyrms contains ancient spells of Malakathian origins. And now, a scrap of Drakormir's soul. A full translation of its Draconic speech would advance our understanding of that continent by hundreds of years.

The text allows the bearer to wield the same power as one of the old wyrms. Fire hot enough to melt stone. Storm summoning. Mental dominion. Illusions. Fear. And I think the power to enhance one's own physical strength beyond ordinary limits. Certainly I've seen skin grow hard as scales and deflect arrowheads.

It warrants further analysis, but the book's current bearer is erratic. I suspect part of the price is to bear the same weakness as the wyrms: a crippling ego as large as a mountain and an insatiable greed. These traits are in their early incubation period, but I believe will worsen over time.

Further study is required to develop a more concrete hypothesis.

Until then, I am still as ever your curious colleague,
Urberus"

History

Created long ago by cultists of Drakormir from the first ages, this tome contains terrible spells which allow the reader to call forth the might of dragons. A museum at Elbion held the text until ruin befell it. Amid the shearing tidal forces of magic loosed at Elbion during Drakormir's rising, a sliver of the Drakefather's soul became trapped in this ancient tome.
