Drakormir, also known as the Holy Elder Dragon, is a massive dragon east of the Forbidden City. He is worshiped by the Draconic Order worshipers of Thagretis as a revived god.

History

Prior to 370

The origins of Drakormir are unknown to the world. Draconic Order worshipers believe that he is as old as the continents.

Prior to Drakormir's re-emergence, Epressa and Liadain only had several texts from various ages describing colossal beings that used to roam the world. Some of these beings were described as gods. Stories vary, yet several sources describe them being cast underground. Tales of a dragon more massive than even Great Dragons are archived across the world.

In Thagretis, the history of Drakormir is written in their ancient holy texts. They say that Drakormir built the very land they inhabited millennia ago and ruled as a living god. The dragon would demand tribute from Arethil in the form of gold and riches, which he would allow Thagretis citizens to enjoy some of for their job in collecting it. The Draconic worshipers claim that eventually Drakormir mixed his blood with the humans ruling the city and that now everyone in Thagretis is a descendant of the dragon god. Drakormir also had a dragon-wife, Neha that was as large as the Dragon-God and more active in attacking foreign lands.

The Draconic Order texts do not go into detail on how and when Drakormir and Neha disappeared. They say that their dragon god left to defend against foreign threats. The Draconic worshipers passed down a prophecy that Drakormir would return the next time the planets and moons align in the sky.

Awakening

On the night that a once in several millennia alignment of the planets and moons occurred, there was a massive eruption east of the Forbidden City. Those that explored the event found massive, jagged rocks piercing the desert sand along with something now called Dragonglass scattered across the land.

Not much time after people began to investigate the eruption, it was revealed that the strange rocks that materialized in the desert was the back of Drakormir. The dragon awakened and emerged from the ground.

Drakormir then began to move east. The High Dragon Priests claim that he can speak through them and that he seeks magical energy to replenish what he has lost...

Personality and traits

As an intelligent being, Drakormir possesses traits of a personality. He is able to voice his desires through Thagretis High Priests and the Archprophet.

The dragon claims to only wish to rule, not destroy. Drakormir is willing to make offers and trades to avoid destroying what he seeks to command. He is also willing to make deals if not taking the deal would result in him losing something he desires.

Yet since Drakormir is incredibly powerful, he has shown to have little regards for the lives of the people beyond their utility for his rule.

Powers and abilities

Drakormir is the largest living creature on Arethil, and the largest confirmed creature to ever exist. Even Great Dragons appear dwarfed compared to him. As a result, the dragon possesses unparalleled physical strength compared to any known being on Arethil.

As a dragon, Drakormir possesses the ability to fly and breath fire. His scales are incredibly difficult to penetrate. Even the flesh in areas normally susceptible to damage, such as eyes and mouth, are hardy compared to much smaller creatures.

The dragon is also an intelligent, self-aware being. This intelligence is displayed via the dragon's powerful psionic abilities. He is capable of speaking through priests of the Draconic Order or other beings that seek to unconditionally serve the dragon. He is also capable of doing this almost regardless of distance - able to communicate with the Archprophet in Thagretis from the Forbidden City.

The dragon's telepathic abilities allow him to also command an army of thralls across the world. These thralls seem to be buried in many locations under the surface. Normally, he will delegate tactical command to a champion in the area while organizing his thralls from a strategic view.

In addition, dragons may be compelled to follow Drakormir's will by his psionic abilities. Those with higher intelligence describe Drakormir's presence as a soothing song. Highly intelligent dragons may resist succumbing to Drakormir's will, yet getting close to Drakormir increases the strength of his siren-like melody.

Draconic Order texts say that Drakormir has the ability to shape the continents. They say the dragon can make volcanoes erupt unending and level cities with massive lightning storms. This has not been displayed. However, the dragon is supposedly low on magical power.
