Be'sennar The Redeemer
"How old is Be'sennar?"
"I don't know, all I know is my grandfather said that his grandfather grew up on tales of him."
-Rorik Fellmore and Dyl Harlite, Eredale
Appearance
At first glance, Be'sennar appears to be an older human male in superior physical condition. He has both piercing yet gentle eyes and a voice that can calm any storm. At second glance, where he moves, the light follows.
Skills and Abilities
As an ardent practitioner Celestialism and the sword of Astra, Be'sennar has access to various forms of divine magic.
To the Pain- Be'sennar takes on the suffering of those around him, healing them, and injuring himself. He has been known to do this en mass, numerous times over his long existence.
Banish Evil- Calling upon Aionus, he has the ability to channel divinity and banish undead and demons alike back to their respective plane. The stronger the target, the harder the strain. His fiftieth life was sacrificed banishing the great Demon Bar'shatuu.
Flash-walk- In combat, Be'sennar uses his holy blade and the glyph of Aionus to shift his body and gear between the physical and the corporeal. This is used primarily in combat to limit the strain. While corporeal, he cannot deal damage.
None Shall Pass- Calling upon Nykios for strength, he bolsters himself and those who can witness him, with the strength of the God of War, allowing common man to accomplish great deeds.
Righteous Flame- The Redeemer calls upon Astra's flame to burn away the sin and wickedness of a chosen and redeem a fallen soul through the pain of rebirth. Jane was one such example of this.
Blessing of Astra- Having earned the trust and protection of Astra, Be'sennar has been granted both the blessing and the curse of rebirth. He maintains his same appearance each time, but his path through death becomes longer with each one. This can be quickened if he is brought to a Shrine of Astra.
A Paladin's Blessing- while in sight of the Redeemer, he protects allies from fear and curses, though this does not mean he can remove existing curses or heal.

Personality
A champion for all, Be'sennar is known by many and has accepted the curse of living beyond those of his line. As such, he bears naught but love for the common man and seeks to convert many to the ways of Astra or her companions.
He is kind to all, even those who intend to do him wrong. And though he is in some aspects immortal, he still dies the same as any other warrior, just requires extra effort.
