Snarling and ensnared, enraptured by pain and deferent to the silence required to survive, Adjantis' face contorted from the torture of being caught by man made trap designed for beast. The fangs of the device ground it's teeth into his leg which promoted Adjantis' own maw to reveal the bone that could flay with but a seizing of aggression. Those teeth flashed now in agony. The thought repeated itself through flashes of pain in the Wyld knight's mind.

Hold on.

He breathed a ragged breath as his leg became further butchered by the slow acting trap, one designed for cruelty and population control all in one menacing package. It was ostensibly a bear trap, but one with the spirit of the mimic, something that had threatened to capture a rare and precious peacock. Adjantis applied his understanding of Life to his own wound.

A flash of gold and the pain dulled for precious heartbeats, the bleeding slowed, yet such was the power of the trap that the thing made of wicked sharpness. No regret lurked within his heart, for the beast that he had saved peered into his soul and spoke silent gratitude. An albino peacock that understood the severity of the situation as it looked with red eyes at the circumstance it had been rescued from.

With trembling hand from the pain, Adjantis extended his paw to impart a spell that might save him from the fate he forced fate to inflict upon him instead of this prime beast of the forest. His ears prickled as the language of beasts was rendered comprehensible by virtue of the Wyld he understood and called home more than the monastery.

Call for aid from my comrades. Go with this message. 'Adjantis is caught in a trap for beasts.'

The peacock understood as it hopped away at full speed, it's pure white visage darting through the forest. It understood the pain that it avoided. It understood in what small understanding of the world it had that it had avoided terrible pain. It darted to find a knight and display it's visage along with the message to those who might see it.

Adjantis cursed silently as he fought through the pain. The area he had been ensnared within was a small palatial grove of sweet smelling flowers of dark hues, aligned with the scent of food that had lured prey to be ensnared. He thought of who might lay down a trap even as the bleeding resumed, and pulsed another cantrip of life magic to balm his growing injury. The trap was an insidious one, designed to render much pain before being located.

Somewhere, a trapper smiled as it made slow progress through the forest to find what manner of beast had been caught by the device known as The Fangs of Pain.
