    The portal stones, reliable for thousands of years, recently sent travellers to locations across the world.

    They appear to be working as normal, but the whispers in the void between locations have grown louder. Even those without magical talent can hear them.

Cut and dry. Sable took Sam's answer for what it was, and visibly relaxed as ordered. He followed on, as would likely be his path for the foreseeable future. In spite of himself, he couldn't help but smile as he traipsed on behind his new commanding officer. Freedom from prison and a second chance...all he had to do was not squander it all.

Before he knew it the two of them were in the company of mounts and moving to put Vel Salvus in their rearview. Samantha told him what would come next, and a spark of hope flickered in Sable's chest. With as much gusto as he could muster, Sable gave his answer.

"Yes ma'am!"
