This post contains information on Chronicles player groups, how to create them, how to apply for Featured Group, and how to maintain your group status.
General Organizations: These have a lore article in the wiki, however there is no formal player/writer structure or coordination on the forum or discord. They exist as background information or lore to be used in character stories, both player and NPC.
Groups: These are smaller groups (minimum 3 writers) that have been organized around a central story, plot, idea, or type of character. They typically have a lore article on the wiki that features information for how the group is organized, run, and who is involved. These groups typically have a chat channel or OOC thread channel tied to their stories and events.
Featured Groups: These are larger groups (minimum 4 writers) that have been organized around a central story, plot, idea, or type of character. They have a group lore article, a group HQ location article, and feature multiple stories, threads, and an OOC leader responsible for maintaining the organization of their members. These groups have a chat channel and group icon on the Chronicles discord, forum banners beneath their member avatars, and locations on the Chronicles map.
What does being a Group mean? What are the requirements and rules?
Being a Featured Group brings additional benefits:
Name: Name of the group
Description: A brief description of the group and why people should join
Active locations: Name the areas of the map your group is active in-character
Group Wiki Pages: Link the groups main wiki article here
Group HQ Wiki Page: Link your group's HQ location wiki page here
Members: Tag the members who are forming your group
Threads: Link any roleplay threads where your group has featured
Banner (Optional): You may have a banner for your group that will appear beneath member's avatars. Must meet style of other banners (PSD here). 200x40px, bold, size ~18 IM Fell FW Pica font
Icon: Your group must have an icon (86x86px) this will appear when people tag your group members. It will also be added as an Emoji on the discord server and is required as a reaction to let people join/leave the discord chat room.
Once you have posted this here a member of staff will either approve the application or let you know what else is needed. Post your images to an image host for the application or upload them to the Chronicles image upload thread, but a member of the admin team may request them directly as files after acceptance. Icon should preferably be saved in a vector-based format.
If approved Staff will move your wiki page to the "Featured Groups" Area, promote it to a Category, add a group tag so your member list is public.

How do I make a Group?
Groups are player-led mini-communities that characters can join. Groups aren't just for cities or individual races like Tieflings or Elves - groups can be formed around broader ideas like organizations, localities, or shared interests such as crime!- Post an advert on LFG areas within the forum and Discord to drum up interest for your group, thread, or idea
- Get a thread going! Feel free to create a new OOC thread for discussion on our Discord under the #rp-plotting-lfg channel
- Do you have continued interest for your idea/group and at least 3 active writers? Ask a Staff member (members with blue names) on Discord to create a Group channel for you to continue the discussion
- Once you achieve Group status, you may choose to submit your group's Headquarters to the wiki
- Your HQ can then be submitted to the Map Location Request thread once it meets the appropriate requirements
- If your group popularity grows and you would like more tools, keep reading to learn how to promote your group to Featured Group status.
What does being a Group mean? What are the requirements and rules?
- A Group may have its own chat channel on the Chronicles Discord Server
- A Group may have ONE location on the map (their HQ/base of operations) but it is not required
- A Group may have a special prefix in the Organization portion of the Wiki
- A Group only requires a minimum of 3 active writers
- To maintain official "Group" status and assets, Groups must remain active with a minimum of 2 threads of any Prefix type per month, 1 Group Thread (3 writers min) or Open Chronicles per half year (6 months).
- Groups that fall inactive for 3 months (no active threads on the forum) will receive a check-in from Staff to determine status of group
- Staff may exercise its right to remove Group if no active writers or interest remains
Featured Groups
If your group is starting to become established and has at least four members you can become a Featured Group (read on to learn how to apply).Being a Featured Group brings additional benefits:
- A joinable group with its own user banner on the forum
- The ability to tag the group on the forum to notify all members
- Your own Discord Role in our server with an accompanying icon
- Your group will be moved to the Featured Groups section of the wiki
- Your advert listed here in this thread for people to find
- Multiple group locations on the map
- Featured Groups require a minimum of 4 active writers
- Featured Groups are required to have their HQ on the Map
- Featured Groups are intended to be OPEN to any member to join or create a character for
- At no time may a FG deny membership to a writer without sound reasoning
- If a writer becomes an issue within a FG, please alert Staff either on the forum or on the Discord
- Featured Group wiki articles must be kept up-to-date by its FGL or another member of the group with threads, events, member list, and any new group developments that occur through RP
- Featured Groups maintain activity with a minimum of 3 active threads of any Prefix type per month, 2 Large Group Threads (4 writers min) or Open Chronicles per half year (6 months)
- The writer who submits their group for the Featured Group application is henceforth considered the OOC Featured Group Leader or FGL
- FGLs may at any time make the decision to demote the group down to normal Group status and give up FG benefits
- Staff must be notified of this decision
- Featured group will be moved to main Organization wiki section and given Group prefix
- Featured group chat will be moved to normal Group category in Discord
- All locations on map except the group HQ will be removed
- Featured group Forum Bling will be removed
- FGLs may at any time name another member their co-leader to help lead the group or take over in their absence
- In the case that a FGL goes inactive for 3 months without naming a co-leader and without notice, the active members of the group may vote in a new FGL or to step down to normal Group status
- Active members may put their name forth for consideration
- Active members must have been engaged with the group for a minimum of 6 months (or the time period for which the group has been a FG if less) to be allowed for consideration
- This is to ensure that a potential new FGL is familiar with the group lore and intent
- Vote must be definitive with a majority win
- FGLs may at any time make the decision to demote the group down to normal Group status and give up FG benefits
- If the Featured Group goes inactive or does not pass their activity requirements, a Staff member may make the decision to demote it to normal Group status

Joining a Group
To join Chronicles Featured Groups and claim your group banner, head to the preferences page for your character (link) and join the group you want to join.
