The Arcane Nexus... At least, that's what Selina called them. Junctions that peppered Arethil at every crossing of the lay lines, the magic that permeates the world. Each junction varies in power depending on how many lay lines cross in that particular area. These Nexus nearly always form a protected grove to keep out those who would abuse this power.
The effects these junctions have on the land and life around them is tenfold, the presence of magic infusing the air itself with power. The plants, the rocks and metals, the animals, the monsters and even people who live inside these Nexus are blessed and enhanced by the magic. The properties of medicinal herbs are increased, the potency of potions made here are unprecedented, and magical staves made from the wood here are powerful indeed.
Selina had located yet another Nexus, and she was traveling there now. Recent events have shown her the shortcomings of herself and her current equipment. She needed to resupply and rework some of her theories and algorithms.
Of course, she still had quite a journey ahead of her and this road was leading to a village, might as well stop for a little bit and see what's going on in the little hamlet.
