The street was bustling. Bells and drums competed with the yelling of adults and children alike. The scent of fresh cheese mixed with clean wool and charchoal. A soft yet chilly breeze cooling the otherwise heat of bodies. Colors of all kinds waving about from flags to clothes to wagon tops. Animals bored and excited both making their feelings heard. Their smells adding an edge to that of the products on display.

It was Market Day!

Bertram was excited. Best day of Winter! Minus the holy days of course. His sheep milk cheese, wool fabric bolts, and kegs of freshly brewed ale made from the grains he grew in his fields along side skins of cider made from the fruits in his orchard. A real mix of products on display. He would have even included honey, but his poor little bees had a rough year. Couldn't bring himself to steal their hard work. Maybe this year they would have a better time gathering their nectar.

The market stall was flagged on either side by a pair of large, scarred dogs. Everything about them screamed war hound. Everything aside from the wool doggy sweaters with wavy designs of clouds and trees and their names written on the back. The one on the right was named Biter and the one on the left Ms. Cheese. Along with them was a fluffy calico cat that hung herself from the top of the stand. If not for the flicking of her tail one might think she was asleep. She also had her own wool sweater on that said Sweetie. The three animals were not welcoming in any way to any who walked on by.

Their owner in his own wool sweater with animals of the farm of all kinds along with cats and dogs was smiling as cheerfully and friendly as his animal companions were not. He waved as he yelled out, "Fresh cheese, ale, and cider here! Best wool cloth from Oban to Alliria! Give it all a taste or touch! You won't be disappointed!"
