It had been a long trek on this last mission. Finally a knight and a member of the Dusk Sanctum, Rin had been paired with Isander, a knight of the Dawn Sanctum. It was common that a Dawn and a Dusk member were paired together. They had ridden out to search out a creature that had hidden in the swamps. A Hag, who made promises with those in distress and in dire need. Only to turn their requests into tricks in the end, locking them in various states of horror. Hags by and larger were not normally hunted by the Knights, most went about their magic and made deals in ways that didn't result in deaths and mayhem. Sure, the supplicants often found their wishes granted in ways that they hadn't expected as the fey creatures weren't fully truthful. Yet the people who were affected had decided to make whatever sacrifice that they'd agreed to, but they were left alive with whatever their request had been.

They'd first tried to reason with the witch. Get her to agree to no longer take advantage of her clients as well as to release the young maid that she was holding prisoner. It had, of course, not gone to plan in the slightest and so the pair had to improvise while trying to simultaneously protect the young woman and defeat the Hag and her servants. Rin had almost landed the killing blow to one of them, but the poor boy managed to break free of the Hag's charm causing the knight to warn her companion. A further complication. This mission was quickly becoming way more complicated than they'd originally known going in.

In the end, they'd managed to stop the Hag, save the young woman, and release those whom she'd charmed. Though the success was not without personal injury. Rin and Isander had seen the young men and women to safety from the bog, setting them on their way home with some coin to hopefully help them along the way. It was the least that they could do for the youths who almost had their lives stolen from them. The now deceased Hag had helped as well, as they'd managed to find the creature's horde so it hadn't all come out of the Knight's pockets. There were also a few runes weapons and other magicked objects now tied to the knight's staddles, they could either be useful or destroyed on getting back to the Sanctum. Hopefully keeping the more dangerous items out of hands that could use them for harm.

The pair came into a small village as the sun was setting. A tavern sat on one side of the packed dirt road, the sign swinging in the night breeze. A cat engraved on the wooden feature, its tail wrapped around a stein and the text "The Kitty Cat Inn" scrawled along the bottom. Rin led her horse around toward a stable behind the inn, caring for her ride before hoisting the pack and heading toward the building. "As long as it has good drink, food, and a comfortable bed, I'm most welcome to whatever this inn will offer." She said glancing at Isander as she pushed open the door, lively music dancing out onto the evening air. Rin allowed him to go first, before she followed after him only to pause as the door shut behind them. There were cats on a wide variety of surfaces and the staff all were wearing carved and painted cat ears. This was not what she'd been expecting when she entered the building.

"Welcome friends to the Kitty Cat Inn! What may we help ye with this evening?" The innkeep, a portly woman wearing a pair of white cat ears nestled in her curly white hair, said greeting them both with a wide smile. "Don't mind the cats. They're all friendly. If you feel particularly connected to one, we do welcome adoption of these wonderful felines."
