Gift Name/Title: The Edge
Gift description: A huge, hand-crafted bardiche polearm. The head of the weapon is quite heavy and apparently never dulls. At the opposite end of the handle has a small chain, off the end of which is attached a heart surrounded by two bull-like horns, sculpted from granite. The weapon is enchanted with a magic that lets the weapon shrink down to the size of a pen for as long as the holder likes.

There was a sound like a gigantic polearm suddenly becoming a tiny polearm.

"Interesting..."

There was a sound like a tiny polearm being inserted into the lock of a corroded strongbox.

There was the sound of a tiny polearm becoming a gigantic polearm again, despite the complaints of the strongbox.

"...very interesting."

"Wait!"

Brenna was eager to unwrap her own gift but she had another to give before she would look at her own. Before Velaeri rose too high in the sky the young Nordenfiir clambered onto the roof of her hut to be level with the giant gryphon's talons and produced from her pockets a giant silver torque. She had found the largest she could, fit for a bears arm, and had just had to hope it would fit the mythological creatures talon.

"In case nobody got you something," she stumbled over the practised words a little before sliding the rich offering on to one of her giant talons. "Merry Yuletide!" and with a little wave she clambered back off the roof and disappeared inside to unwrap her own gift.

The days hadn’t been kind recently. Not in the least. Part of that was his own foolishness but not all of it. Each aching wound he had could attest to this fact. So it was on a quiet contemplative walk through the forests at the base of the spine Vayden found himself today. The wind was cold and cutting but nothing the man hadn’t known all his life. He wondered idly at the gift he had given up to the great winged beast as the weather began to calm. He hoped someone would carry the armor and with it the memory of his beloved. Her soul had left a mark on that leather and iron.

Eyes like flame were pulled up to a branch just overhead. A small white stone shone brightly like the snow around him. What an odd little thing. Vayden reached out and took it from where it was wedged letting the white contrast against his palm for a moment. A small note clung to it with an inscription and a signature. He thought the orb felt vaguely warm. Closing his clawed fist he felt an odd sense of ease wash over him. Somehow, despite everything, maybe it would all work out in the end. How exactly he couldn’t say but just holding this warm little trinket seemed to make things a little brighter. He pushed forward though the snowy woods. Maybe it was time to catch some dinner.

Imagine his surprise when the giant-catbird landed upon his campsite, a strange twinkle in its eye before it was off in a storm of feathers and wings and gusts. Wide eyed, he kept his gaze locked on the mythical creature as it flew off into the night. His hand stabbing his fork into the plump sausage that was cooked and still hot in his plate. He popped it into his mouth as the fire crackled and popped, and he chewed as he watched the griffin grow smaller and smaller against the dark sky.

"Well I'll be," he said between chews. When Garrod swallowed his food and beheld the gift that the creature had left behind, he stared at it too, and contemplated its meaning as he went on eating. "Not a fan of cranberries then, I take it?" He asked the indignant portrait, demeaning all who gazed upon it. "You aren't really my style though," he went on, as the fire crackled and hissed. "Guess I may be able to pawn you off for some coppers though," he said as he scrapped up some grilled onions and popped them into his mouth. "Silvers if I find someone into this sort of thing."
