Fable - Ask Escort Duty

A roleplay which may be open to join but you must ask the creator first
What had initially seemed like a small skirmish brought on by a group of rogues now appeared to be a full onslaught from these scaled creatures.

The naga that approached her wielded a large moon-shaped sickle. It swung down towards and a quick parry she had learned from the Major aided in avoiding it. What was his big lesson though? Watch your opponent's feet? What if your opponent didn't have any feet? Brilliant stuff.

Not deterred by her parry the snake whipped his weapon horizontally this time and Colette had to back-step quickly to avoid being sliced into two pieces. As the curved blade moved beyond her she instantly lunged forward and drove her blade into the naga's midsection. The beast gurgled and hissed but then fell silent as she pulled the blood-painted sword back out.

Her eyes shot over towards the nobleman's location to find emptiness. Had he been slain already? Had their entire mission failed just like that? That was when she noticed it, a scrap of his fine clothing dangling from a nearby tree. The boy had managed to scurry up into one of the trees and was, for now, undiscovered.

Though if Colette had noticed him so easily it was only a matter of time until their reptilian foes did the same.

”Fuck this.” Ein said to himself as he took a few steps back and rushed towards where the noble had been.

His gaze swept low over the area, then he noticed Colette staring up into a nearby tree. His lips thinned in a scowl, and he shouted loudly.

”GET THE FUCK DOWN FROM THERE!” His temper got the better of him. ”Everyone!”

Ein was not even close to the most ranking member among them, that position was something he’d likely never get, but he had a good view of the situation and could make the call better than anyone else. ”We need to retreat!”

The Noble bellowed out.

“R-retreat?! No! FIGHT TO THE DEATH!”

His words came as two other Naga suddenly sprung from the woods. Ein felt his stomach sink, and fingers tightened as he motioned.

”FUCK THAT! GET DOWN SO WE CAN RUN!” The noble stared at Ein incredulously, glanced at the Naga, and then scurried down the tree and broke into a sprint towards the forest.

"Nice work greenhorn" Donric smiled as the corpse of the naga fell between them. Without wasting a moment, Donric turned and scanned the campsite come battlefield that erupted around him. The Guardsmen and women were strong, they were some of the best trained and hardy men on the continent.

Yet even with that considered, not even they were able to repel a surprise attack indefinitely. He sighed, catching site of Ein and Colette at the base of the tree and beckoning Alakir to follow him towards the group.

The remaining guards were doing well against the Naga and the group would be safe for a few moments more until the camp was overrun that was.

By the time he arrived, the noble had sprinted off into the forest and Donric sighed.

"Fuck sake, could he not have chosen the other direction to run. Fort Tyore is only a mile or two away." He groaned, keeping stock of the naga slowly advancing towards them.

He shrugged, whistling innocently as he glanced around at the rest of the group. "I mean... We could leave him, he'll get caught, nobody will kn-" Donric didn't get to finish his sentence, instead he saw the look Colette shot his way.

He sighed. They were going to have to chase the noble and he knew it.
