Dear Erlking,
Enclosed you will find a small gift. Like it or not, you and Delun are the closest thing I've ever had for family. Until, perhaps recently. Though, with my change I doubt any recent events will change what I'm stating in this letter. I just wanted to say, Happy Patriarch's Day. To someone who has been more of a father to me than my own flesh and blood ever was.

Though, maybe I am your own flesh and blood now.

A scrape of the chair, footsteps carrying him across the room to fetch fresh parchment and ink before back to the desk. Another scrape of the chair, the tinkling of a quill nib off a glass inkwell. Then the rhythmic scratch of a pen on paper.

I find myself moved to pity if I and Delun are all you believe to have in the way of family.

Given your recent changes, family is perhaps more important now than it was before. As such I am giving you into the charge of my most faithful hound Vaer Nhimei. Mayhaps he can teach you the truth of the word family and further things.
