Kasim Areth

Illyria was vividly aware of the growing awareness the pair were receiving. With a distinct push and a verbal reminder in a tone that required no translation, the Eldari indicated for Kasim to continue to walk forward and keep his attention focused.

The last thing she needed was to try and explain the situation before they met the elders.

Amidst the growing stares and low murmurs, Illyria led Kasim up a series of stairs, walking deeper into the magnificent city towards what appeared to be a large white building with graceful arcs and delicate masonwork.

It wasn't long before they arrived in front of an entrance with a grand balcony. Within moments, as small trio of Eldari Moonelves appeared at the entrance. These were elves that were well over a millennia-old, and unlike Illyria, would instantly recognize Kasim for what he was.

A human.

"Apsene- me an i interrp, mal ni found sina an'er on oshor. So vamme quet- our lambe mal ni ósanwe -yes prudent ana túc- him símen. " she explained, indicating that Illyria apologizes for the interruption but that she had found Kasim on their shores.

All the while, there was no mistaking the hardening of the elder elves expressions, as if Kasim was an intruder that they had no desire to see.

The elder male elf in the center of the trio, with his melodic tenor, quickly replied, "So na- vamme er -o i hini. So must n- sent ana his nostale."

Illyria gave a frown. It was obvious that Kasim was not Eldari, but then what was he? And how were they going to be sending him away? Where to?

Kasim blinked.

More Elves, these ones looked to be older. Age did not hit Elves the same way as it did humans. They were touched by the passage of time not by wrinkles and creases, but seemingly a touch of the ethereal. One could almost argue that they grew more beautiful with age.

There was a regality to these beings. The way they held and carried themselves was greater than any King or Queen could ever hope to. The look in their eyes was one of wisdom. Kasim wondered if any human could ever achieve that.

They talked over him in that odd melodic tone.

One of the elder ones looked at him, then looked towards Illyria and offered something that to Talus' ears very much sounded like a question. Fingers tightened, and lips thinned as he tried to strain to understand.

He really wished there was a rune for language.

Knowing his place, and not wanting to end up stabbed in the middle of an Elf City Kasim decided to stay quiet. In his head he began to write the Bard's tale of all this, a song and story about how he'd washed up on the shore and encountered a land of beauty most could only dream of.

It would kill with the ladies.

Ilyria gave a purse of her lips. What Aldar, the Eldari Moonelf elder indicated was that Kasheem would need to go. Where that specifically meant was not an area Ilyria knew of first hand. However, the motion and instruction from the elder towards Kasim gave a distinct indication that they were to apprehend him.

"Sha shale sy vanlie tayveli?" Illyria interrupted brow furrowing in an inquiry. What would happen to him? Would his safety be guaranteed?

The Moonelves guards that had moved towards Kasim's direction did not pause, but Aldar held a hand up as if to sooth Illyria's concerns. "Sha veil tayslei na sh tevi. Uly vyaeni tay se tali."

He will be sent back to his kind. What he would experience would be nothing but a mere fevered dream. To an extent, Illyria understood. There was also no real connection between her and the stranger. However, there was still a sense of responsibility.

"Valeni talyvel na denar?" the musical note of her inquiry regarding Kasim's safety would float past the man.

Kasim looked around as the guards closed in.

His fingers almost immediately went tight, and instinctively he reached for a weapon that he did not have. A small curse echoed past his lips, and his eyes darted quickly around the room as though he were trying to look for a way out.

"Hey! Listen!" The melodic sound of voices floating around him were an insufferable taunt. He knew that they were talking about him, knew that they were deciding his fate, but he understood absolutely none of it.

"I don't mean any harm!" He looked at the guards. "No need for any of them."

Kasim desperately motioned to the guards.

What the hell were they planning?

He had no understanding. All he saw was a clutch of guardsmen stepping towards him, all of them far more capable than he.

"Slya vary'in tha'en val'eni slayv?" Illyria inquired, her brows furrowing further. It did not escape how the stranger had become alarmed. Attempting to get this attention, the Eldari made a motion for him to please calm down.

Starting a commotion was only going to end in confusion and harm to his person.

"sle vie." Aldar replied, indicating that the human would not be harmed. Taking a step forward, Illyria quickly pressed for more information.

"Tayven, ma'veylin sha'rie veni talieva'vyn. Kasshem." well that was something familiar. For Kasim, it would remind him of how the woman had attempted to pronounce his name with that musical language of hers.

"Aivie. Valie ma'vey... Fal'addas."

Kasim didn't lash out at anyone, but he didn't exactly manage to calm himself down.

He could feel his heart racing in his chest, and even as Illyria tried to calm him down he couldn't help but graze his fingers against one of the runes on his forearm. It did nothing, not yet, but he was getting to run if he had to.

Then he heard something else he understood. Fal'Addas.

Most Anirians would not have felt relief at hearing those words, but Kasim was not most Anirians. His head whipped up towards the speaker, and he quickly echoed. "Fal'Addas?"

The city in the trees.

He had never visited it, but he had heard the tales and stories. They would at least welcome him without spears...and speak common.

Were they sending him there somehow?

They would send him to Fal'addas. It was a name that Illyria learned through her studies of the ancients. The birthplace of the Eldarai before the great schism that broke off their island from the mainland in an effort to pull away from the downward spiral of the tainted magic the elves had concocted in fear of the orc hordes millennia ago.

"Ja'veni, dalis'valys vlan'iey alei'vai sha'vl?" Andor continued, indicating that which Illyria already knew; outsiders were not allowed within the vicinity of Cei'andril. It was for all of their safety.

Turning towards Kasim, Illyria took a deep breath. She narrowed her blue eyes on him, that soft glowing skin illuminating her visage with that ethereal quality.

"Slyei, dai'e vanue'nly s'yvlals da vi nei." Illyria asked the elder. If she were to at least go with them, then perhaps he would be able to keep calm

"Nie, Illyria Daemyer." The elder elf replied, denying her request.

There were some sacred places and areas that even Illyria could not cross the threshold into.

Meanwhile, the guards came up to take Kasim into custody, moving to take a hold of his upper arms. Should he resist, they would do their best to subdue him before heading towards the large double doors behind the trio of elders.

As soon as one of the guards reached out for him Kasim took a step back.

Unfortunately the motion was not taken too kindly, and as he tried to dodge backwards the Guards quickly lashed out. The butt of a spear jutted against his ribcage, another smacking against his ankles and sending him falling to the floor.

A loud "Oof!"

Passed from Kasim's lips as he was felled, the weight of one of the ethereal guards landing on top of him and seizing his wrists. Before he could activate any of his runes or do anything of the sort the three men surrounding him pulled him off his feet.

Kasim's eyes went wide in a panic, his muscles tensing as he tried to fight back.

After the long march and nights floating at sea however the Jester found his strength wanting, and even as he tried to pull himself free the guards easily managed to carry him forward.

"Sla'vian Kasshem. Sle'vian." Illyria attempted to try and provide a measure of calm and reassurance, but with their inability to communicate, only tone could really relay what she was attempting to provide. Even then, the musical note of the language only made it dance with a delicate ting within the ear.

The guards would guide Kasim up towards the wide, white wooden intricately carved double doors. Of which beyond would bring him towards the depths of the inner sanctum. Even Illyria could not enter there.

From within, a large stone carved with intricate stones and a medley of glowing runes. Some familiar to Kasim, others unknown.

However, there was something about it that would tug at the mind. A familiarity.

A portal stone.

"Oh." Was all that Kasim said as he saw what they had placed in front of him.

Eyes widened slightly, and his lips thinned. Portals Stones were not common, not in this world anyway, but Kasim had seen them before. They were unique things, tools that could be used to travel across an entire world with a single step.

His father had always wanted to destroy them, calling the things an uncontrollable threat in a world full of constants.

"So I guess I'm not getting executed then." He said quietly as he turned around towards the guards. "Do I just...use it?"

He didn't even know how.
