The sounds of Goblins yipping and hollering were heard in the distance as bright lights went past the King Griag's chambers. "Move you dogs!" a crack was heard pounding against flesh followed by a cry of pain. "Maintain ranks you maggots!" A deeper voice was heard, a Hobgoblin Warlord marched his miserable troops forward. "You're near the King's room! Keep moving!"

As the small Goblin legion moved away, a Goblin maid entered the King's chambers and approached the Drow: The King's Wife Harianra. "Morning my dearreesss!" she said happily. "How are yousss todayssss?!"

Harianra was busy working on a piece of parchment, scribbling and drawing. From Griag The Goblin King 's chambers she was able to get a bit of a vantage point, offering her the ability to at least start a map for herself. It hadn't been long since she was brought to her new 'home' and despite the runes that her aunt tattooed on her arm and wrist; all that she could think of was escape. Surely she could still honour her vows while living seperate, couldn't she? Of course she could!

It was hot in the Goblin Sanctuary, so it was no wonder that they didn't wear much. Harianra didn't need to impress anyone with her attire, but the vanity in her just didn't cease. Griag had said that he'd kill whoever touched her, so in that threat she felt relatively safe enough to have some of her skin bare.

She breathed a sigh of relief as the soldiers moved past the chambers. Another breath was given as a Goblin maid entered instead of the King. "I've had better days. I think that I shall go for a walk to stretch my legs."

"Myyyy laddddyyy," The Goblin maid said getting close to Harianra. "It issss timmmee forrrr yourrrsss breakfasst!!" The Goblin maid scratched her hunchback which had flies swirling around around it attempting to pick the puss that came out from the yellow boil. "Whattttsss isss itssss youusss hasss myyyy laddyyy?" She said attempting to see the piece of parchment that Harianra was scribbling on.

Breakfast? Oh...joy. Harianra wasn't sure of what exactly it was that Goblins ate. Whatever it was, she was certain that it wasn't to her own refined taste. "Oh I'm not hungry. I need to work up an appetite." As she spoke she folded up her parchment before the maid could see it clearly. "Where is the King?" She didn't care to call Griag The Goblin King her husband as of yet. She didn't want to. Instead Harianra preferred to think that this ugly situation was only temporary.

"Heee'ssss oofffff toooo doooo sommme bussssinnesss," The Goblin maid said as flecks of spit were sprayed on to the floor. "Heeee wonn'tt be back innnn a feww dayysss I beliieeevvveee," The maid took out what appears to be a metal bowl full of green goop and placed it Harianra. "Trrriesss ittt!" she said cheerfully. "Ittt issss verrrryyyy nutrrrioussss!"

A few days? Well that was pleasant. Harianra was glad to have a few day's break from Griag The Goblin King trying to touch her and kiss her.

At the sight of the bowl of slop, she merely shook her head. "No thank you. I told you that I wasn't hungry. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going for my walk now." She didn't make it sound like a request at all. It was more of a matter-of-fact statement. Tucking the parchment under her arm, she palmed the quill and inkwell before making her way to the door. There was determination in every step as she put her hand on the door and pushed it open.

There was freedom on the other side. She knew it. She just needed to find it.

The Goblin maid bowed, "beeee carreeefulll myyyy ladddyyy," she said picking a booger out from her pointed nose. The booger hung on her crooked claw like finger before she flung it on to the wooden table. "I shouuuulllddd waaarrrnnnn youuuu thaatttt theeee Gobbbblllinnn Sannncctuarrryyyyy issss fullll of plllacesss thaaaatttt yooouuuuu coooullllddd fallll innnn. Thhhheeerrrrreee aaaarrrrreeee allllssssoooo unnnnsavooorrrryyyy creeeaaatuurrressss annnnddddd Gobbllinnnnsssss thhaaaaat theeeee hiiiissssss gracceeee diddddd nooootttt gggeeeeettttt tooooo hisssss siiiidddddeeee."

Harianra paused at the doorway to listen to the maid. "I'll be fine." was all that she responded with before she stepped out.

Her body shuddered in revulsion for a second or two, yet moments later she was as composed and dignified as any Drow would be. She no longer wasted time going over the plethora of excuses as to why her aunt forced this on her. Alliance or not, she didn't deserve this! Why couldn't she be forced to marry a beautiful creature? She'd even stoop so low to settle for a human. But Griag The Goblin King ? It was a fate worse than death!

Harianra kept her head held high as she walked past some other Goblins on the walkway. Shw ignored them of course and kept to the path that she had drawn from the King's chambers. It wouldn't be too long though until she had reached what was unknown.

"Keep moving you Dogs! Or you'll feel the lash!"

A Hobgoblin goaded a group of Goblins who were pushing a huge brown box down the wooden, creek bridge. The Hobgoblin raised his tattered leather whip whacking the ground as the small Goblins struggle to push the package. As Hariana opened the door she could feel the cold wind bristle against her exposed skin. The Goblin Sancutary was a bustling place full of Goblins yipping and howling as they went on their day to day business.

The Sanctuary is like a maze full of flimsy wood, there are multiple directions that seem to lead nowhere. The Sanctuary was dimly lit though the torches gave it light giving Hariana options.

For a moment Harianra hesitated. The cold air surprised her, causing goosebumps to rise on her arms, legs and chest. Reaching with her free hand, she grabbed her cloaked and draped it around herself before stepping out on the walkway.

She did her best not to flinch at the sounds of the whip, already imagining how it would sting. During her escort here after the wedding ceremony, Harianra at least remembered part of the journey. Only now that she was on her own, the bridges seemed a lot more dangerous than before. They even seemed to sway more too. Perhaps it was partly due to her light bodyweight.

Regardless she trudged on, squinting her eyes a little in a bid to see further along the path that she chose, cursing her aunt along the way.

The bridge ahead was a bit shaky swaying back in forth, with each step that Harianra took the wooden planks began to creak and crack put more pressure then it'll probably break. The Goblins continued to crawl along the jagged walls of the Sanctuary like overgrown ants, cursing and hollering at each other. Ahead of Harianra were a bunch of small wooden houses. Outside of it were two Goblins drinking bottles of Vodka screeching at each other in their native tongue.

As Harianra continued to cross, a small Goblin ziplined right in front of her carrying a stack full of papers cackling as though he's done something which he may as well.

Harianra inwardly winced as the planks seemed to want to give way underneath her weight. She tried to focus on what was ahead of her, now noting that the Goblins seemed to prefer climbing the rocky ledges as opposed to using the bridges.

Well that was just perfect.

She lightly held the rope with one hand while she crossed, nearly ducking as a small Goblin crossed in front of her, almost causing her to lose her balance. "Hey!" She quickened her pace until she was safely across to the ledge where the two houses were. "Watch where you're going!"

Just as she was about to reach the two houses, Harianra felt her foot go through the wooden plank causing her to nearly fall down. Her cloak was snagged on a rusted nail ripping as she fell. The Drow found herself stuck on the bridge with her foot through the broken plank. She'll have lift herself up but carefully as the bridge began to sway violently. Meanwhile a small Goblin crawled all the way from the dark abyss below and stared at the Drow laughing maniacally as he watched her perdicament.

"Gah!!"

Harianra tightened her grip on the rope as her foot unexpectantly fell through. She just froze in place as the bridge swayed, waiting for it to settle before she would even think of moving.

Her poor cloak was ruined! Sure it could be stitched, but it'd never be the same way again. Harianra grit her teeth, doing her best to ignore the cackling Goblin that seemed to enjoy her plight. That's what she was now. Just a laughing stock to not just one Kingdom, but two. Carefully she pulled herself up and then began her crossing again, albeit more slowly and gingerly this time.

The small, pudgy Goblin narrowed his bloodshot eyes at the Drow as she painfully got up and looked at her cloak with dismay. As soon as Harianra picked herself up, the Goblin leapt from his stony wall like a Lemur jumping off from a tree and clung on to Harianra ripping off her brown cloak. "I likes the cloak!" he said as he did a back flop off the Drow's back and landed on the tightrope sporting perfect balance. "I thinks this will sell well on the black market in The Shallows!"

"Hey! Get off me!"

Harianra swatted back at the Goblin with her hand as she briefly let go of the rope. Yet she couldn't stop her cloak from being ripped off as she was more worried about falling than anything else. "Fine! Keep it then!"

Just a few more steps and she was across, breathing a sigh of relief to having made it. Yet Hariana wasn't about to let her guard down. Instead she kept focused on her task which was to work on her map more. Just as long as she wasn't interrupted by more Goblins, she should be fine.

"I hate this place..." Harianra mumbled as she followed the path on the ledge.

The Goblin snickered in victory leaping off the bridge before grabbing on to a zipline on the dark abyss below. "I'm going to be riiicccch!" he shrieked while slid away his voice echoed through the already loud Goblin Sanctuary. There were more yipping and hollering while Hanrinra reached the end of the bridge. The two drunk Goblins began to wrestle each other for the last drop of Vodka. They began locking up and hit the ground punching and biting each other kicking up dirt in the process. As Harianra reached the ledge, a horn was heard through out the Sanctuary which caused the remaining Goblins to go in a frenzy. "The King is about to speak you maggots!" A voice echoed through the Sanctuary.

It was almost comical the way that the two Goblins fought over vodka. Yet Harianra's mind drifted to what horrible things could befall her cloak way down there in the dark.

But it was so noisey in the Sanctuary that she could hardly think straight. However the horn blasting made things even worse. Harianra turned to face the direction that she had come, wondering what the announcement would be. Wasn't he supposed to be away on business?

"Greetings my Goblin horde!" Griag's big booming voice echoed throughout the Sanctuary. "It turns out that my deal with the good people of The Shallows have concluded earlier than I anticipated! However, there is more work to be done as we prepare to fight future battles with Queen Vyx'aria ! Our path to vengeance is clear! We have the allies, we have the equipment and now time is on our side! Soon the Halflings of Fairbarin will feel the might of the Goblin Horde thundering down their grassy plains and killing every single one of those midgets. King Gorback! My father will be avenged! The Goblin Horde will have their revenge!"

The Goblins cheered loudly to the King's speech.

"I must rather see my wife one more time before I depart!" He smiled. "Bring the Queen to me! So I shall tell her in person how much I love her and how proud I am that she is your Queen of the Goblins!"

So that's what Griag The Goblin King was doing. No doubt negotiations went quicker than expected for him to return so soon.

But she wasn't done! And she had no plans of hearing him confesss his love and touched her again. The wedding ceremony was bad enough.

Harianra gripped her quill, ink and parchment a little tighter as she walked briskly along the ledge, moving to put as much distance between herself and the King's chambers as she could.

There was a hovel ahead of Harianra she may be able to find some peace and quiet so she can work more on her map. However she needs to be cautious, the Goblins at least on the upper floor are looking for Hariana. From here on out she'll need to hide and try to go to the lower floors. But first she might need to construct her map and observe the Goblins first.

The hovel looked inviting in some respects. But really it belonged to Goblins, so how inviting could it be?? Still, it was better than being out in the open.

Harianra moved quickly, almost at a run before she slipped inside. Going upstairs would give her a better vantage point, but she could hear voices up there. Biting her lower lip she snuck underneath a table. The floor was putrid., but it'd have to do as she unfolded her parchment, set down her ink and began working on extending her map.

There were guttural growls that were heard before Harianra heard the large foot stomps thomp, thomp, thomp. It was no ordinary Goblin but two Bugbears each wielding a rusted Iron Greatsword. The giant Goblin subspecies sniffed the air frowning and looked around heading straight for where Harianra was hiding at.

Not only did Harianra hear the Bugbears coming, but she cpuld feel them too as their movements and growls seemed to vibrate the floor. She quickly folded up her parchment and tucked it in the left side of her bodice below her arm, yet kept hold of the quill and inkwell.

Slipping out from under the table, she grabbed a knife from the counter and held it firm in her grasp as she left the kitchen to another room to hide. It appeared to be a bedroom of sorts. Thank the Fates that it had a window.!

It was then that the Bugbear saw Hariana head towards the kitchen. His pupils dilated and his hairy, clawed hands gripped the rusted iron mace as it roared after the Drow turning over the wooden table in the process. The other Bugbear caught on as well following his brother as he sprinted for the kitchen looking for Harninra. "Come on out!" The Bugbear said approaching the kitchen. "I assure you that you'll be made into a fine snack!" The monster licked his lips as he entered the kitchen looking for Harianra.
