A New Rebellion
You could hear the chatter of townsfolk talking in the busy tavern at Maraan during one cold night. A wide variety of different kinds of people sitting at the tables. A group of sketchy low-life criminals are seen hanging around a table in the left corner of the tavern, where the dim moonlight shines its light onto the area. Lucifer proceeded to walk into the tavern and headed straight for the group of petty thieves, where he pulled up an empty chair and comfortably sat on it the opposite way, facing the three others. "What do you want?" could be heard coming from one of the thieves. Lucifer leans in slowly and gives the group a frightening smirk, replying "I want what we all want. Power. Respect. To be feared." Lucifer's eyes and horns would glow bright red during this interaction. The group of criminals look at each other at first before cracking up in laughter. The girl from the group of thieves jokingly says, "Just because you have horns on your head doesn't mean you're scary." Lucifer becomes frustrated after hearing the stranger make fun of his appearance, he suddenly stands up off from the chair and walks up to the girl, firmly grabbing her by the neck and raises one of his hands to her face, using magic to cast warm flames from his palm, having the fire next to her face.
Lucifer then says, "Join me on my quest to create a feared empire or die. It's that simple." The group is caught by surprise with his sudden threat against them. Since they are just mere humans they wouldn't stand a chance fighting against him, so the three of them willingly agree to his request. Lucifer stops the flames at his palm and let's go of the girl, smirking at them while they all nod their heads in agreement. The fear in their eyes said it all at that moment. This small group of criminal followers would mark the Tiefling's beginning to a rise in power. A new faction was created on this fateful night, one called The Hallowed. The faction consisted of only a few people for now, so it didn't raise any unwanted attention just yet.
Over the next few days, Lucifer had the group of mischievous thieves spending their free time recruiting people into the faction by use of force and blackmail. One of the thieves named Aliero was able to take over an empty cellar underneath the village, converting it into the faction's temporary headquarters. Though it's a simple low budget hideout, it serves its purpose. The new faction members helped out by placing wooden furniture such as an oval tavern table with chairs. Becoming a criminal organization from the ground up wouldn't be easy but Lucifer knew it wasn't impossible either, so this didn't stop him from trying. There was one slight problem though, if the rise of this new faction was noticeable as a threat to Maraan's integrity as a popular trading city, meaning if they stopped trading with other people. Maraan's alliance with several nations could change drastically and this could cause an outrage. Lucifer spent much time thinking about how to approach the situation without his faction's lives being in complete danger. One thing that would surely help is to gain a much bigger following while also staying under the radar until they wouldn't need to hide anymore in the shadows.
An unclaimed island Northeast from Maraan caught the attention of Lucifer and his miscreant faction. Everyone thought of this place to be the perfect location for a permanent faction headquarters. The unhinged group members sat around the faction table and discussed how they would build up an empire by forcing locals to build for them. It seemed as if everything was going to plan so far. Slowly but surely the new faction would increase its member population. Nothing too drastic has happened yet, Lucifer and his group hasn't decided to stop the town's trading process just yet. He figured that if they were going to do that, their faction should be an appropriate size with a defendable kingdom. Alas, that is a goal that won't be reached for a few months at best. This sudden transition to an island wouldn't be an easy task but Lucifer seems to have the entire faction in fear for their lives, so they feel like they've got no choice but to obey his command.
