Sweet Summer Child
Lost deep in the wild.
Why do you hide?
Why have you cried?
No longer feel riled,
My arms are open wide.

How long had it been since Quacey left his children at home? A few years. No longer babes nor toddlers. Since their birth he had been there for them. His heart consumed with a new kind of love. One that had only grown more cautious and clingy since the passing of their mother. Even if he couldn't call things with her romantic he did care for her. It had been hard on him when she past. An emotional time that he had directed into the care of their twins.

But today the large fae was not with them. Left in the care of a trusted individual that knew any harm to them would be met with a thousand fold retaliation. A mother bear held less fury than he did concerning his little ones....

Being overprotective would not be good for them in the end however. And he had duties and obligations beyond the walls of his home. Someone was lost and his domain demanded he aid them. The urge was not fleeting and he was all too aware of what would come if it was ignored. So he had to leave and become part of the greater world once more.

This was the reason Quacey found himself in a deep, forgotten piece of the Falwood. Spring Court territory thankfully. He was able to walk with much less caution than normal being his own court. Not that it being the territory of another had ever stopped him before. Those times just required him to watch for aggression and be more diplomatic. Here he could do mostly as he pleased given his rank.

The fae just wished he knew where he was going. His feet followed that steady tug that somehow always knew where the lost were. All he had to do was trust in it and follow its guidance till he found them. Tree after tree after tree he past within the primordial forest. It felt equally as familiar as it did alien to him. Some wild places in the world were unknown to even the fae. This seemed to be one of them.

The large fae stopped. He had crossed into a grove at some point. He did not know when. Eyes studied his surroundings. That sensation within him telling him he was close. But to whom? It was not possible his own domain had decided he needed to be the lost one and drug him out here for that purpose was it? No. He could never be lost himself no matter how hard he might try. Always his feet found him on the proper path and no doubt it had done so now. He just needed to find the one he was met to meet and offer them what help he could for whatever troubled them.
