Syretia Akilah
Crime is a fact of life and there isn’t a more factual part of Elbion than the Quarterfell District.
Nestled in between the Port and Residential Districts the Quarterfell houses some of the poorest residents of Elbion and it is through the Quarterfell that all of the Lyrum, hashish, venenum, whilly-whiskers, moonshine, corpaprevilium, and all manner of other illicit substances flow into Elbion.
The high crime rates make it so that it’s rare for the Elbion Gendarmerie (the police force of the city) to send too large of a presence into its streets so as not to risk an all-out war with the Marte Cartel. Instead, small teams of detectives investigate crimes and build cases throughout Elbion but especially in the Quarterfell District.
Recent calamities in Elbion have only served to embolden the Marte Cartel, making the job of the Gardes and Gendarmes much more difficult.
Appearance
Syretia is half-human and bears some resemblance to humans in her facial features that are obvious to dark elves but typically missed by races outside of the deep elves.
Instead, most non-Drow notice her exceedingly dark skin, tipped ears, and dull white hair. They also, typically, notice the array of scars on her face present from an incident she prefers not to speak about.
What any who encounter can agree on though are her pale eyes which tend to be unsettling for humans and dark elves alike. Not quite blue but not entirely gray, they are a useful shade for prying information out of her marks.
Skills and Abilities
Fast thinking, fast talking, fast stabbing.
Syretia typically is armed with a steel kris and has been around enough of the scum of Elbion to know her way around a blade or a bar brawl. She, typically, prefers to avoid fights.
She never had much of a talent with magic but understands enough to grasp some basics and carries a null magic charm, as do most detectives. The charm is capable of nullifying magic in an area around the investigators which is particularly helpful in a city like Elbion.
In addition, a hand crossbow is typically carried while on duty. Just in case the situation calls for a de-escalating presence.
