Svenia Albrecht
Daughter to a wealthy family with noble heritage, Svenia is a gifted young mage. Her ambition had always been to become a healer of great renown and to carry on the family business of distributing various goods - particularly copper ore mined from the Dragonspine and timber from the same holdings.
Following a tragic fire that claimed the lives of every member of her immediate family saving herself and her older brother - gone to oversee operations in the mountains - turned all of that on its head. Sent to Elbion to learn as much to distract her from the grief of loss as to get her out from underfoot while Mero gets affairs back in order after that tragedy, she applies herself to learning the arts.
So it will never happen again.
Appearance
Svenia is of slight build, nearly a whisp of a girl compared to before the fire. She did not escape the flames herself; the left third of her face is scarred from the burns and she is blind in that eye, too. The burns extend down her neck and across her body in a line that matches where a burning beam landed on her. Her upper left arm bears some burn scars too, as do both of her hands.
She has brown hair that is typically tied back in a black ribbon at the nape of her neck. She wears elegant dresses of simple cut and with long sleeves as a general rule, and a hooded shawl of silk which she keeps over her face to hide as much of the scarring as possible. Svenia keeps herself immaculately groomed, even with the shadow of grief looming over her. She has a preference for deep forest green and royal blue in her attire.
The young Lady walks with a limp and often carries a staff with her - a beautifully carved thing made to look like climbing ivy and lacquered in various shades of green and polished wood - partly out of the imagined image of a mage, and because sometimes walking is painful and it is helpful to have something to bear her weight rather than her ruined leg.

Skills and Abilities
Healing Magic: She has a natural affinity to healing magic, capable of mending minor wounds nearly instantly and more serious troubles with more effort. Her skill can mend the flesh but not the mind and the spirit; forced healing makes the body whole and hale but the mind does not forget. Her healing brings great pain that persists for a time after the healing; the greater the healing required, the greater the duration and the intensity.
Naturally, her gift cannot be applied to herself. Untrained, she is not always successful in mending whatever ailment she seeks to remedy.
Protective Magic: She is capable, to a much lesser degree, of protecting others through sorcery. At current, she can only grant a temporary resistance to harmful magic from other sources, and resistance to disease.
Pyromancy: With no native talent at elemental magic, it was a surprise (and an unwelcome one) to find an affinity with fire and an unnerving ease with calling flames into existence following the fire at home. Understandably, Svenia is terrified of fire, but she has no control over when the flames manifest.

Personality
She is reserved in public, adhering to standards set out by her Father and Mother. Such is, of course, expected of someone with good breeding and in the presence of high society. While no means demure, she nevertheless prefers not to draw attention to herself by way of outbursts or displays of unchecked emotion. It has become increasingly difficult to maintain the illusion of the prim and proper lady, aloof from the world. She is often unwilling to put herself forward in social situations among people she does not know.
Of noble birth and born into wealth, she sometimes has a difficult time understanding the point of view of people not born into such circumstances. Unlike many of her peers, she does not hold 'commoners' in contempt. She is not well versed in their way of life and is caught off guard often by their coarse ways and tales of their lives - so different from her own.
She is money minded, and seeks to make a profit where she can. The only exception is in the gift of her healing arts, which she feels should be free to any who need it.
Among friends and acquaintances, she is outspoken and stubborn. She will lower the mask of proper behavior entirely in the presence of people she knows and trusts, displaying a mischievous streak that is wholly unexpected. At times she can forget herself entirely, forgetting all the troubles wrapped tightly round her soul.
She is an exceptionally intelligent woman, a trait that did not come from being well educated. She is able to work through difficult problems in a pragmatic and logical manner.
Svenia is not a fighter and will actively try to avoid fighting where possible. When cornered, though, she will fight like a badger. Where possible, she will support others rather than wade into the thick of a fray.
She will render aid to any who need it, regardless of who and quite often without regard to her own safety. After the tragedy at home, this trait has only intensified. The only exception is in the face of fire; Svenia is deathly afraid of flames and actively avoids them with the same fear an aracnaphobe would treat a spider.
