Ania
Appearance
Ania has very pale white skin, mild freckles on her cheeks and nose, lightly shaded blue eyes, and dark black hair. She is of average height and weight for most humans while being slightly muscular due to her military training.
Typically she is seen wearing black or gray armor. As a general rule Ania wears gloves so her abilities do not accidentally get used on unwanted victims. Her estoc is kept on her right hip and a dueling dagger is located on her left.

Skills and Abilities
The dreadlord Ania excelled at swordplay during her martial training especially with light weight blades such as rapiers, estocs, or falchions. Her training also made her adept at horseback riding, basic survival skills, and hand-to-hand combat. Conversely, throughout her warfare training she consistently struggled with feats of strength and archery training.
Ania began undergoing the standard magical training of dreadlords and her affinity for wind and shock spells was obvious at the onset. She learned a few low impact spells in both disciplines though her abilities in these fields are unreliable at best.
What really interested her proctors was her ability to inflict pain and project hallucinations onto others. Often this was done by forming ‘links’ with a prospective target which would cause her and the target to share any physical sensations felt by the other. What this allows her to do in practice is cause immense pain to herself and any others whom she forms these temporary bonds with. She can also project frightening illusions that appear before herself and any others whom she’s formed bonds with.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of her mentors, it was deemed impossible for her to project pain or hallucinations onto another without it also impacting Ania. As a result, if a victim of her magic drives a dagger through his flesh or is assaulted by another then Ania feels every ounce of pain they feel. This can prove problematic in situations where someone that Ania has targeted has a higher threshold for pain than she does, though this is admittedly rare due to her habitual exposure to pain.
The real drawbacks to her abilities though became obvious in her teens. Constantly subjecting herself to pain has dulled her senses and results in phantom pains occurring at inopportune times. Sometimes these are so bad that they may cause muscle spasms. Worse still, she is subject to any illusions or hallucinations that she projects. This has caused Ania to slowly lose her grasp on reality. She is required to undergo psychological analysis from House Weiroon but as her abilities have made her the best interrogator in Vel Anir it seems doubtful she will be dismissed from the dreadlords unless she loses her perception of reality entirely.
Personality
Cruel, sadistic, and cutthroat are all words to appropriately describe Ania. Morality or ethics are secondary to the focus of her current objectives. She is a devoted member of House Weiroon and strongly believes that the other houses are incapable of governing the grand city of Vel Anir.
Ania is under a delusion inflicted upon her by Proctor Norris and others at the dreadlord academy. This delusion is a manipulation of her own magic that has created a view that Vel Anir is just in all it does.
