Vordrakel Deaz'renith
Sharyrdaes
Appearance
Vordrakel has long, pale blonde hair and green eyes, and gold-hued skin tone. Despite being a warrior by vocation, Vord is a scholar at heart. He eschews material armor for magical protection that appears to overlay his normal clothing when conjured. He is of average height and build for an elf.
He usually wears a finely-made but plain tunic and pants, similar to what temple staff might wear (Or a monk). When in combat, he can project his light magic into a protective shell which appears as a translucent orange-yellow set of scale armor when struck by an attack.

Skills and Abilities
Ancestral Wisdom: The spirits of the Deaz'renith blade's previous wielders speak to Vord through it as long as he wields it, sometimes giving him advice from beyond the grave. These ancestors can help him in minor ways, but are usually only accessible to him when he meditates.
Heirloom Weapon - Elven curve blade: Vordrakel's favored weapon is an elven curve blade that has been passed down through the generations of his family, with one child every generation being selected as the next wielder, and as the next soul to be bound to the sword upon death. He usually wields it in a dueling style (one handed, keeping one hand free) but he can use a shield when necessary.
Conjured shield/armor: He can summon a shield and/or armor to protect himself from most attacks. This takes time and focus and therefore must be prepared in advance.
Mageblade: Vordrakel can imbue his weapon with a spell (usually fire) that casts upon striking a foe. This can affect a single target or multiple close targets.
Dragonfire & Hearthlight: Vordrakel specializes in concentrating fire and light magic. Wielding the powers of this primordial fire requires mental discipline and special attention to maintaining the balance of destruction and creation (offensive fire spells and defensive light magic). Anything that would break his concentration may severely impede his ability to control this fire, which may harm enemies, himself or his allies.
Example spells:
- A charge targetting a single enemy out of range that grants Vord unusual speed and creates a wall of fire in its wake
- Breathing magical fire in a conical attack in front of Vord
- A bubble of protection from mundane and most magical fire
- A temporary boost to Vord's movement speed, ability to jump and ability to dodge attacks
Battle Meditation: When his resources are drained, Vord must seek at least a few minutes of calm to meditate and restore them. He does not need to sit down or otherwise pause what he's doing in order to do this, but he must be out of direct danger (i.e. fighting an enemy).
Personality
Faith & Tradition: Vordrakel believes in and aims to uphold the ancient traditions and spiritual teachings of his people. This can, at times, lead him to be intolerant of other faiths and slow to change.
Calm & Rational: Vordrakel is typically a very patient man - both in life and in battle - willing to listen to every side of an argument even if he disagrees, and taking measure of an opponent before striking.
Reserved: Great loss from the times of the Eventide have left emotional scars that he distracts himself from by focusing on the problems of the present.

Biography & Lore
Vordakel comes from a long line of sword sages, each one wielding the powers of fire and light in defense of their beleaguered people. Where this power over fire comes from is a secret from the first of the Deaz'renith sword sages, Anandari, who made a pact with the elder dragon Vvardax that forever changed the lives of her lineage.
