Appearance

Ukrit is a half-orc that stands at 6’5 making him a figure that stands out among those that attend the school of Elbion. Of course, that’s not the main aspect that causes the figure to be noticeable, instead, it is his ancestry. Ukrit’s skin starts as a Seafoam green for the upper part of his face, though by the time it reaches his jaw it shifts to olive green. This pattern continues across his body down to his toes the colors intermingling creating an interesting design. Where many expect tusks to be on his lower jaw there are instead nubs from where Ukrit broke them off and filed them down before entering the academy. While that trait could be hidden, the sharp teeth that adorn his maw nor the claws he sports on his hands and feet.

Ukrit takes care of his appearance so as not to appear as much of a savage as many of the academy and within the walls of Elbion assume him to be. His raven black hair is always neatly combed back the front of it having a swoosh in the front. His clothing much like many of the other students are the robes of the academy, preferring a crimson-colored set. These clothes often hiding the monstrous body he possesses beneath the robes rivaling the fittest of human knights and at times exceeding them.

Skills and Abilities

  • Physical Traits:
    • Being half Orc, Ukrit is far larger than most humans this size and heritage also playing part in his physical attributes. Sporting the strength of his orcish people, Ukrit is fully capable of picking up and throwing a fully grown human with some effort on his part. The claws on his feet and hands that he hates so much can easily claw through human flesh, drawing blood and revealing bone if the cut is deep enough. Supplementing his physicals Ukrit is surprisingly flexible having trained and built it up over time due to the unfortunate point in his life where he found it hard to complete some of the more civilized necessities of life.

  • Hand to Hand:
    • While not knowledgeable in the use of weapons, Ukrit does know how to use his claws and size to the best of his ability. His claws are used mainly for self-defense and used to claw into those who’d mean him harm. His orcish strength used to supplement his skills in grappling.

  • College Magic:
    • Having been accepted into the college a year prior, Ukrit’s skill and knowledge in College magic has grown to a point where he understands and grasps the concepts of it knowing a few of the more simple spells such as creating barriers or unlocking locks. Yet Ukrit truly dabbles in the elemental aspects mainly what some would call electromancy. Currently, his skills capable of releasing small shocks from his hands. These shocks can range from the feeling of static electricity to a tasing effect that causes muscles to seize. Or a sustained use of it can be used to create a small orb of light that trails behind him. Though caution is always a necessity with this form of magic. The first sign of overuse being an uncontrollable twitch that starts in Ukrit’s hands and can extend to his arms numbing them making them useless. The second sign becoming excessively hot as his body temperature begins to rise making him suffer the effects of hyperthermia. The third and where Ukrit usually completely stops use is when his eyes start to bleed, the vision darkening in both and his body beginning to convulse uncontrollably.

  • Sanguimancy:
    • A special magic that Ukrit naturally inherited from the clan of Orcs he was born to. While he never received any formal training in it the half-orc has learned how to slightly harness the magic native to him. Considering the capabilities he is able to tap into even as a novice to them makes Ukrit wonder how his clan could ever have been taken out. So far Ukrit is only able to control the blood within his own body, usually to increase the blood flow to his limbs increasing his strength and speed beyond what they already are. This causes the half-orcs skin to flush, the veins across his body becoming more evident as they stand out across his body in a grotesque way. Another use Ukrit learned after many accidents through his private sessions was to cause his blood to clot around wounded areas to stop the blood flow and protect the area. As expected of such a magic it comes with a hefty cost. The costs beginning with the popping of blood vessels along the body, following that being the tearing of muscles. Those just being the simple consequences. Delving further Ukrit has found that he can begin to lose his senses, starting with hearing, taste, and going all the way till he loses his sight. The worst consequence he suffered was gaps in his memories and suffering conditions similar to a concussion.

  • Weaknesses:
    • Unlike many related to Orcs or born to them, Ukrit has no familiarity with weapons at all. Whether it be swords, spears, or even bows he doesn’t know how to use them. In fact, the man is more a danger to himself than to others when wielding them.

    • Though Ukrit’s skin isn’t hardened or callused like many of the full-bloods leaving him fully susceptible to his own claws making him more cautious unless he wishes to wound himself. While also limiting him from wearing shoes or even gloves due to just shredding through them.

    • The most noticeable downside of the traits Ukrit inherited, however, is his temper which can be compared to a volcano when it explodes. The figure often losing sight of his goals, becoming clumsy, and even going so far as to injure himself.

Personality

Ukrit, unlike many other orcs, is a being that is well articulated and calm though at times seems weary of life as a whole. Even after having been adopted as a youth and brought into the city of Elbion he is oftentimes discriminated against which has ruined the way in which he views himself. Ukrit always has the feeling of not belonging despite his adoptive father’s attempts to make him feel otherwise. Ukrit is one who strives to be above what others think him to be, burying himself into studies and constantly practicing magic to try and be better. To do better. As much as Elbion totes itself as a welcoming city, he’d learned the hard way it truly wasn’t.

Often disconnected from the other students it’s rare to see Ukrit conversing with others outside of work that correlates directly to their classes. More often than not he is locked away in his chambers. Ukrit is one who craves companionship yet finds it difficult to find any truly willing to accept him, let alone the destructive tendencies that at times rear their ugly head. As much as he attempts to run from his heritage as a Half-orc they often break free, a thirst for violence and destruction that can lead Ukrit to commit violent acts.

Despite all these traits against him Ukrit is one who is intensely loyal to those who show him true affection. Not only that he is one who doesn’t fear the consequences as much as he should. In the process of aiming to complete a task, he will overexert himself, once breaking all the bones in his right arm trying to cast a spell beyond his current capabilities.

Biography & Lore

Ukrit unlike many of the orcs that live in civilized societies wasn’t born to it. No, he was born to the Crimson Raider clan. A clan of orcs known for their raiding attempts in the dessert of Amol-Kahlit. They weren’t mercenaries, they were murderers, bandits. The clan committed acts that would turn even an experienced sell-swords stomach. The clan so violent and dangerous that even Sand Elves wished to avoid them. Over time the clan slowly continued to approach Elbion, their unique magical abilities making them a threat that couldn’t be easily ignored.

Not willing to fight a clan of orcs on their terms, a valiant knight by the name of Arun and a few of his allies came together and moved to intercept the orcs. The battle was bloody and stories say it raged from sunrise till the moment it came down. In the battle, many of Arun’s men had been lost, but so few orcs remained that those who did scattered to the depths of the desert. It was only after the battle that Arun found a bundle that had been carried among the clan, a young orc that hadn’t even completed their first summer of life. This child was Ukrit. Those knights who survived the assault sought to either kill Ukrit or leave him for the Hyeana’s. Arun, on the other hand couldn’t do such a thing his code of honor not allowing him to do so, as well as wanting to give Ukrit a chance at life.

Many questioned Arun’s decision to take in an orc and there were many times he’d wondered about it himself, but he raised Ukrit to the best of his abilities in Elbion. Perhaps it was the way Arun raised Ukrit but he was far less a warrior and more a scholar, taking to reading books and always dreaming about going to the college of Elbion. A feat that Arun thought beyond the youth, but Ukrit was studious and determined. Determination can only go so far in Elbion, especially considering Ukrit’s heritage. The first year he tried to apply for the College he was turned away citing that there had been too many students admitted that possessed superior skills to his own. The second-year Arun himself using his status pulled a few strings to get Ukrit admitted.

Just because he was accepted into the city of Elbion and even the college didn’t mean that Ukrit wasn’t discriminated against. Ever since his youth he had to deal with either teasing or the surface level of xenophobia where people would avoid him. Make comments behind his back, creating a somewhat inferiority complex within the orc and causing him to go so far as to break off his own tusks and file them down. Slowly as his prowess grows Ukrit is learning to ignore those around him and seeks to surpass them and prove that he’s more than his ancestry.
