Tristan is a talented young mage. He is jovial and blithe individual that is characterized by his rebellious spirit. Only son to a family of wealthy Allirian merchants, Tristan has not known much hardship in his life. He is a flippant individual and is more concerned with fun and frivolity than responsibility. His lax attitude more than hinders his great potential as a mage. He is incredibly intelligent and capable of grasping concepts quickly, though his attitude often hinders his learning capabilities, as he has little to no interest in learning topics that he has no personal interest in.

Tristan possesses confidence sourced from his latent talent, appearance, and skills that borders on arrogance. He has a distaste for senseless violence, but ironically has an interest in fencing and is an avid duelist himself. Despite his apparent confidence, he is rather modest in regards to speaking of himself and instead displays his confidence through body language and actions. While he is ostensibly a good-for-nothing, Tristan occasionally shows signs of a young adult struggling to find motivation. His desire for excitement often results in an active effort in making friends. He is well-spoken and mild-mannered.

His enrollment in the College of Elbion was more a decision made by his family than himself, for they hoped the reputed education of the College would result in his growth as a mage and maturity as an adult.
