Spade-Head
A small forager often preyed upon in the Delta, every moment is caution for the spade head. With a diet consisting of roots, grubs, insects, and anything small and unprotected enough for it to eat, these lizards often use there heads to assist in digging into the soft ground in the marshes and riversides to hide themselves.
Appearance
Roughly 1.5 to 2 feet long, their colors range from olive green, to tan, to light brown, along with light yellow eyes. As their name suggests, they have a rather large, somewhat triangular head.
Habitat
Alongside marshes and rivers. Can sometimes be found just beneath the soil.
