Established in what was at one time a large cathedral, the Black Talon is a tavern located in the elven city of Sharyrdaes. Due to the grand architecture of the city, most buildings are large already. The Black Talon encompasses a vast footprint, and being set just outside of the city's grand plaza, garners a great deal of patronage.

As one of the first taverns established in the city in over a century, it has quickly become a hub of activity. The prevalence of monsters in the surrounding countryside attract a variety of hunters. The war effort attracts an assortment of mercenaries and sell-swords. That same war attracts a lot of other... business as well, and the Black Talon has become a favoured place to carry out all kinds of dealings from local monster hunting competitions to backhanded deals. In addition to all of this, luxurious accommodations are also available on either of the two upper floors.

The history of the Black Talon is a relatively short one. It was established by the businessman and self-proclaimed scribe, Az'Marith. Having departed from Amol-Kalit, he sought to undertake new ventures, and saw the establishing of a tavern in a war-torn country as not only a monetary benefit, but a morality benefit as well. More than rich enough to let costs slide here and there, Az'Marith does his best to lend a helping hand where it counts.

The Black Talon, though having a reputation for attracting less than admirable individuals from time to time, is a tolerated vice in a city called so holy.
