Spire City

Physical Information
The Spine Ruin Flat terrain littered by large, arcane crystal spires filled with magic. The center of the area is home to the ruins of an old cultists base, the destroyed alter radiating an almost chaotic energy. Underneath the surface ruins, if one has the proper way to access it, which all Gemini do, is a large and intricate maze built to act as the home of the cult, set with homes, kitchen areas, and farther inside the mountain itself are vaults which might hold relics of the time, or of the Gemini themselves. Cold, harsh conditions make this place inhospitable to anyone who arrives, and none will find mercy from the land or beasts.

Overview

Over 1000 years ago there was a cult that worshipped a god, one without a name or domain. This cult tried to use power from another pair of gods they believes imprisoned this nameless deity. Through a series of rituals in their hidden mountaintop lair, they tried to steal the two gods' power in an attempt to free their own.

The consequence of these actions are still seen to the present day, as the mountaintop was decimated and now stands only as a large crater filled with abominations made from these cultists, crystal spires giving this area it's name dotting the destroyed land.

History

Spire City was once just another mountain within the Spine, standing tall over the lands around it and even most of the other mountaintops. This was the location a cult had chosen as it's lair. The name of the cult has been lost to time, but it is known that they worshipped a once nameless god. Their god was thought to be imprisoned by other gods, and the cultists wished to free their deity.

They attempted this by trying to steal the power of two other gods, one of creation and one of destruction. This cult felt as though their god's true domain was that of power, and believed the gods of creation of destruction had locked him away for fear of his might.

Two rituals were started at the same time, one designed to take the power of destruction, and the other to take from the god of creation. They were going to use this power to free their own god, hopefully killing the other two in the process.

While the two gods did I deed pass due to these rituals, the power was too much to contain.

This nameless god witnessed the destruction of the mountaintop, watching as the cultists were twisted and morphed into amalgamations who's entire lives were based on the pain they felt constantly. The magic that was released from these rituals decimated the mountain, leveling it down shorter than any other mountain around it.

Now nothing more than a crater set into the mountain with large dark crystal spires jutting into the sky, this area was now hidden near perfect, climbing the mountains around it being the only way to find it.

This nameless god, one who wasn't actually a god of anything at the time, felt the deepest guilt at what had happened in his name. He didn't want to destroy, to cause pain and agony. He had loved the beauty of the world and it's people.

And so he decided to make something of this disaster.

In this moment, he created his own domain, and became Knossis, the Gemini God. He used his own power to manipulate the energy of his fallen gods and with it formed the first Anomalous Gemini, a Pair known as the DarkLight Twins named Kenos and Parousia. These two would be a pair who's name and influence would echo for ages.

After their creation he spread his magic throughout the world, making a set of rules to create Gemini. As a lonely god, he made sure the Gemini would never be alone, making it so any created would be split and be a companion the themselves.

In the present day the area is still widely unknown, a choice few braving the land to test their strength or gather the crystals which litter the land.

Gemini see this land as their own holy place, an area sacred to them as it is where their people began. Even they usually stay away, however, as the amalgamations show not even them mercy.
