When he was first found, it was clear Alyrnn was stricken with a more pervasive strain of lycanthropy. Unlike others bearing his affliction, the werewolf had never donned the likeness of his compatriots. Those he saw bore the face of man, but he himself bore a beast's visage. Day through night, there was little change in physical appearance. He was trapped in a monster's body.
In addition to the curse, life presented its own challenges to Alyrnn.
The werewolf was orphaned far before he could form memories of his original parents, and the only father he ever knew was an elf by the name of Illiaili. The man was a recluse living deep within the Falwood seeking to get away from the traffic of a mundane life. On one of his travels, the elf discovered the wolf in the remnants of an unimaginable scene. He would never talk directly of what he saw, but it was clear was that Alyrnn's parents were gone. It was there he decided to take in the lost child. The werewolf would be both his successor and his son.
From the very beginning, Illiaili decided to hide Alyrrn away from both the prying eyes and silvered blades of civilization. The stigma towards Alyrnn's kin was too great, and the nature of Alyrnn's affliction made it impossible to meld into normal society. As a result, Alyrnn had an isolated childhood away from other children, and in general, other people. Still, Illiaili viewed the restrictions necessary as the bounties for creatures like his son only grew in number. Better to hide the boy away where he could be safe.
Regardless, the man's methods felt draconian at times, and the werewolf couldn't help but feel more like a student than a son. It would take years before Alyrnn realized that this was a mistaken notion. It would take years before Alyrnn realized the depth of his father's care.
Still, the effects of this upbringing became more apparent as the werewolf aged, and restraining him at Pneria's height became problematic as raw strength grew. It was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened. During Alyrnn's late teens, an accident occured, and at the end of the long, painful chain of events that ensued, Illiaili was no more.
Now, left with only himself as company, Alyrnn was faced with many things. He had a past to reconcile and a temper to tame. New choices were now open and feared. To sate curiosity or pragmatism? To live vengeful or full of regret? Years have passed, but he's still at a crossroads. Would he walk the path of a man as his father envisioned, or would he walk the path of a monster as is his bloodright?

Appearance
While most lycanthropes have at least two forms, Alyrnn's case was unusual. Despite bearing what seemed to be a common strain, the disease behaved differently for him than for others. He was permanently "shifted" — unable to change back from his lupine form. There wasn't much documentation of it that Illiali could find on the topic, but having been born with the curse, Alyrnn likely was fundmentally altered by it. He stuck in the middle. Not entirely a wolf and not entirely a man. His body was some bastardization born between the two.
While his legs were more canine in structure, his arms and hands (despite the claws) were shaped like a normal person's. His frame, albeit unnatural and matted with hair, was atheletic due to his daily regimen within the woods, and like other werewolves, he had the head and tail of a wolf. The fur which covered his body were shades of white that varied between gray and blonde, and on his palms and pads of his feet were a calloused brown. If one were to try to shave him to reach skin, one would immediately notice the paleness beneath. Coupled with pale red irises, it was clear that Alyrrn was also among those who lacked pigmentation.
For clothes, the werewolf preferred more concealing attire. Better to conceal his true appearance from those who could not and would not try to understand. A simple green cloak and hooded mantle were enough to hide his most obvious features. Beneath that, he preferred wearing thinner garments made from an airy, elven fabric. While he thought it more practical to use durable clothes, it was too easy to overheat given his body. He needed summer clothes all throughout the year; however, his wardrobe of these specialized articles was shrinking now that the one who replaced his torn clothes was gone. Alyrnn was left with few options, so on most days, he donned a worn, gray, long-sleeved shirt and brown, frayed pants.
Additionally, the werewolf could always be found carrying some weapon of sorts when outside. Whether that be his dogwood bow, his father's blade and dirk, or woodsung staff, Alyrnn makes it a habit to not rely on his more feral traits.
