Once a paladin of the Radiant Church, Roul, known then as Rolf Red-Hand, was excommunicated after a horrible incident involving the deaths of fellow paladins. He journeyed to the College of Elbion to seek a cure for his ailment, but his affliction caused another series of unfortunate incidents which ultimately led to his expulsion. He now wanders the lands, selling his skill with sword and spell to the highest bidder in the hopes of finding a cure.
